Coin delivery unit with exchangeable coin cassettes - case has coin ejecting devices and sensors for each coin tube

The coin delivery unit has a locking device and a coin cassette inserted from above into the case and locked in it by lock driver rods on a case supporting strip, using individual lock pins and a locking bolt in the lock body. The slots of coin tubes, is moved by a lock cam from its lower to its higher position when the coin cassette is inserted into the case. Coins cannot be stolen from either the fitted cassettes or the housing section. Bent coins do not stop the apparatus functioning.

Automatic coin delivery device - has coins stored in cylinders from which they are removed by ejectors coupled by electromagnets to common operating element

The device has coin cylinders for different coin denominations, to which ejectors are individually allocated. They are activated for ejection of the bottom coin by electromagnets operated by a central control unit. A common operating element (15) is provided for all ejectors (6, 7...) moved to-and-fro by a rotating eccentric (14) against the force of a resetting spring. The ejectors (6, 7...) are connected to it through a coupling device (20, 21...) operated by the allocated electromagnet (34, 70...) against the force of a resetting spring.

A coin dispenser with removable coin box is designed for automatic change machines and vending machines. The coin box has a mechanism with a motor to drive a disc which feeds coins from storage tubes into the dispenser. When the box is not in position on a supporting plate, locking pins engage in the disc and prevent it from rotating. When the box is placed on the plate and turned to lock it in its working position, a locking sleeve in the box is raised and this causes the locking pins to be released from the disc. The dispenser itself has a magnet locking system and an electrical height sensor which stops the disc drive in the coin box when the coin stacks reach a given height.

The change dispenser for coins of the same size uses vertical parallel coin tubes on concentric circles and rotary transport disc with bores for coin ejection. The change dispenser comprises an upper section, a lower section and a handle for carrying. The upper section has a cylindrical covering. It is fixed to the lower section which is sealed on all sides. The lower section has a rectangular or square base. The upper section comprises outer coin tubes, inner coin tubes, a clamping lid, spacing bolts, a spacing tube, a tensioning bolt and a lid for locking the coin tubes.

Coin separation mechanism with conveyor element - takes coins individually from coin supply container over straight backward inclined rear wall

The coin separation mechanism has a conveyor element which consists of an endless conveyor belt (6) which is guided over horizontal axles (3, 4) and whose side (8) running upwards forms the rear wall. The conveyor belt has rows of coin holders suitable for the largest coins. The front wall of the coin container has a spacing from the rear wall which narrows towards the bottom. The two walls form a guide for the coins. The bottommost coins are forced to enter a position plane-parallel to the conveyor belt relative to the coin holders.

A coin sorting system has facility for handling a number of different denominations at an improved rate of transfer. The coins are fed onto a continuously moving belt (2) located beneath a top cover (26), with apertures capable of receiving different coin sizes. A series of contact rollers (16) mounted on pivoted arms (20) apply localised contact pressure to the belt in the region of the coin openings in the top cover. The small coins are ejected first with the belt continuously moving.

The coin sorter receives the random inserted coins. After sorting, the coins are supplied to a collector with separate vessels for different coins denominations. From these vessels they can be recalled individually or in groups by a coin recall signal, which triggers their discharge. The banknotes are inserted through a separate inlet with a removal collector (24). The collector can be emptied only in its removal position. A banknote storage (25) has separate vessels for individual banknote denominations, from which they can be recalled individually or in groups again by a banknote recall signal for supply to a banknote discharge (29). The vessel can be also removed, in which state they can be filled with banknotes for the device operation. Both the banknote store and/or the vessels are pref. provided with a lockable safety device to prevent unauthorised removal.

The counter is for coin sorters having a sorting bar with openings for different coin sizes and coin tubes fitted with magnetically operated lids. A pivoted switching vane above each opening in the sorting bar cooperates with an electrical proximity contact or light barrier which is connected to a changeover switch. The latter switch controls the coin tube lid and is connected to a coin tube counter and a coin collector counter. With the lid closed the contactor or light barrier is switched to the collector counter and with the lid open to the coin tube collector. All the counters are pref. of the magnetic type.

Automatic coin handling mechanism with antijamming facility - reverses drum drive to avert jamming using clutch mechanism

An automatic coin handling mechanism which arranged coins of one size into a neat column for application to coin sorting machines has an anti-jamming facility. The mechanism is in the form of a rotating drum (2) into which the coins (12) fall in a random manner. At the bottom of the drum is a plate (3) in which holes (3a) of the correct size allow tidy streams of coins to emerge from the base of the drum, which is mounted obliquely. The drum is driven through a shaft (1) from a motor coupled to it by a pulley wheel (6) which is coupled to the shaft by a spring clutch arrangement. When a jam occurs this clutch releases slightly, operating a switch (11) which reverses the motor drive and so reverses the direction of rotation of the drum. Serious jamming is thus averted.

This is controlled by a processor coupled to the price keys and the optical display unit of the till. The payment dish and the change dish are incorporated in the surface of the counter, with a chute leading to the money exchanging unit from the former and a belt-driven change delivering mechanism leading from the money exchanging unit to the latter.
