Threaded metal inserts for polymer lower receivers and hybrid polymer lower receivers comprising one or more of such inserts, as well as kits and methods therefor are disclosed. A threaded metal insert has a substantially circular aperture configured with screw threads to releasably yet connectively interface with a separate traditionally threaded firearm component such as a buffer tube or a pistol grip screw. Inserts can be any overall shape so long as it can be integrally embedded within a traditionally threaded portion of a polymer lower receiver in a way that does not interfere with normal operation of an assembled firearm and leaves exposed the internal threading of the insert. Inserts can also comprise textural features on the exterior surface configured to permanently interface with and embed the an insert into molded polymer. A hybrid polymer and metal lower receiver is a stripped polymer lower receiver for an AR type firearm, such as the AR-15 or AR-10, having one or more such threaded metal inserts at least partially embedded in a portion thereof. 1. A threaded insert for a polymer receiver for a firearm , comprising:(a) an insert body sized and shaped to be at least partially embedded within said receiver;(b) an aperture extending linearly through at least a portion of said insert body;(c) screw threads for releasable connection with a traditionally threaded component of a receiver assembly for a firearm; and(d) an exterior circumference with one or more textural features configured to interface with and retain a polymer.2. This invention relates to a device and a method of generating a first and a second fingerprint () usable for synchronisation of at least two signals () and corresponding method and device for synchronising two or more signals. For battery economizing in a receiving station (CU) having a radio identity code (RIC) consisting of M bits, a base station (MIU) transmits a wake-up message consisting of at least two repetitions of a wake-up sequence having N concatenated parts. Each of the N parts includes a sync code word and a different fraction M/N of bits of a radio identity code (RIC). The receiving station is energized intermittently in order to detect carrier and at least one of the N parts. In response to detecting that one of the N parts is received, the receiving station remains energized and analyzes at least the detected one of the N parts. If the received bits of the transmitted radio identity code do not correspond to the corresponding bits of the receiving station's radio identity code, the receiving station reverts to intermittent energization, otherwise it remains energized to receive a message appended to the transmitted radio identity code. This invention relates to a device and a method of relating one or more trigger actions with a multimedia signal and corresponding method and device for detecting one or more trigger actions in a multimedia signal. One fingerprint is generated on the basis of a segment of the multimedia signal at each trigger time point. The generated fingerprint(s) is stored in a database and communicated to playback devices. During playback fingerprints of the multimedia signal are generated and matched against fingerprints in the database. When a match is found, associated trigger actions is retrieved. The trigger time point is determined as a time point near or at a segment of the multimedia signal that caused a fingerprint to match. In this way, a simple and reliable way of detecting trigger markers for trigger actions is enabled without modifying the multimedia signal.

A method, system and computer readable medium for the authenticating of an audio-visual signal, such as digital images or video comprising the generation of a robust image signature with variable size. In a preferred embodiment DC-values of blocks of a digital image are calculated and areas with similar DC-values are merged into regions. The signature is based on said regions and of variable length, depending on the desired localisation ability or an allowable signature length. The resulting signature bits are robust to compression and other allowable image operations. The hierarchical solution provides both robustness and tampering localisation.

Disclosed is a method of embedding a fingerprint identifying media content into a media transmission signal used for transmission of said media content. In order to achieve that the embedded fingerprint survives all kinds of analogue and digital processing such as compression, the fingerprint (FP) extracted (21) from the content is converted (23) into the same signal format as used for the transmission of the content. For example, the fingerprint derived from a video signal generated by a security camera (1) is converted into image pixels. The fingerprint is subsequently accommodated (24) in a part of the signal being provided, but not being used, for transmission of content. For example, the fingerprint of video images is accommodated in the vertical blanking interval of a television signal. The converted fingerprint may also replace a small part of the original content.

A watermark detector (100) detects a watermark in an information signal. The information signal is correlated with an expected watermark (Wi) for each of a plurality of relative positions of the information signal with respect to the watermark to derive a set of correlation results (64). The correlation results (64) are analysed to identify a cluster of correlation results which exceed a threshold value, the cluster representing a possible correlation peak. Where multiple clusters are identified, the most likely cluster is selected for further processing while other results are discarded. The cluster of results can identify a correlation peak which has become smeared due to lossy processing during distribution of the information signal.

A device is configured to perform a method that detects a trigger marker for an action corresponding to a segment of a multimedia signal. A fingerprint is generated based on the segment of the multimedia signal at a trigger time point. The generated fingerprint is stored in a database and communicated to the device. During playback of the multimedia signal, fingerprints of segments of the multimedia signal are generated and matched against fingerprints in the database. When a match is found, one or more associated actions for the segment are retrieved by the device. The trigger time point may be determined as a time point near or at the segment of the multimedia signal with the matched fingerprint. In this way, trigger markers for actions may be enabled without modifying the multimedia signal.
