A vehicle brake system and method designed to maximize the contributions from a regenerative braking system, yet still provide adequate safety measures that address potential regenerative braking failure. According to one embodiment, the method determines both a requested deceleration from the driver and an actual deceleration experienced by the vehicle, and uses the difference between these two values to calculate a deceleration error that can be integrated over time and compared to an error threshold. If the integrated or accumulated deceleration error surpasses the error threshold, then the method may reduce or disable the regenerative braking system until it can confirm that it is operating properly. 1. A method of operating a vehicle brake system that includes both a frictional braking system and a regenerative braking system , comprising the steps of:(a) gathering one or more vehicle operating conditions;(b) using the vehicle operating conditions to determine an actual deceleration and a requested deceleration;(c) using the actual deceleration and the requested deceleration to determine a deceleration error;(d) comparing the deceleration error to an error threshold; and(e) reducing regenerative braking by the regenerative braking system when the deceleration error exceeds the error threshold.2. A handle is attached to the stop block so that it may be easily inserted and removed.

If the integrated or accumulated deceleration error exceeds the error threshold, then the method may reduce or disable the regenerative braking system until it can confirm that it is operating properly.

The invention is related to a fastener assembly of the kind used to secure a gas turbine engine rotor disc assembly on a shaft in a situation which otherwise would required the use of a trapped nut. It thereby removes a design constraint limiting bore diameter of the disc assembly to permit access to a securing nut on the shaft, and avoids the use of a trapped nut. One of the rotors hubs is adapted to be mounted on the shaft and the securing nut is engaged with a thread on the shaft to trap the hub. In the improvement of the invention the hub is provided with an axial keyway through which the securing nut is passed into the limited access space. Once the shaft is engaged with the hub the nut is then engaged with the thread on the shaft and tightened using a special tool extending through the centre of the shaft. The tool is withdrawn after use. The nut may be undone and retrieved in an opposite operation.

The film area can be made large within the cavity without affecting the angular resolution of the sensor which is controlled by the ratio of the optical system focal length to the aperture width.

A device combining internal nasal filtration and internal nasal dilation operating synchronously provides air filtration by retaining particulate in a single piece foam nasal filter during inhalation through the nose. Internal nasal dilation is provided by the effect of a resilient member (20) adhesively affixed to the nasal foam filter elements (12) and which when bent from a planar surface applies outward biasing forces to each nostril so that breathing is facilitated. The soft, gentle foam of the nasal filter distributes the biasing forces over a large area and protects the inside of the nose from irritation. An improved internal nasal dilator filter functions to provide increased air flow through dilation while removing various sizes of particulate through filtration.
