An automatic, powerized system delivers mastic and tape to a drywall during an installation thereof. In a delivery head on the end of a wand, a plurality of pneumatic cylinders control the delivery of mastic and tape responsive to finger tip controls on the wand. The entire system may be cleaned out by substituting a source of running water for a source of mastic.

An actuator assembly is connectable to the sheath, and telescoping actuator members extend from the handle that are connectable to the carrier assembly for advancing the carrier assembly along the sheath. An obturator on the actuator assembly includes splines that may be deployed beyond a distal end of the sheath, and expanded to a transverse expanded configuration for positioning the sheath before deploying the clip. The actuator members include cooperating detents that selectively release the actuator members as the carrier assembly reaches predetermined positions along the sheath for deploying the clip from the carrier assembly, and that collapse the splines to allow removal of the apparatus after deploying the clip.

A method for closing an opening in a wall of a body lumen using a clip can include advancing a distal end of an elongate member within the body lumen, the elongate member having a distal portion that assists in presenting the wall for receiving a clip having a plurality of tissue engaging portions having tips that point generally toward a central axis of the clip. The clip can be advanced relative to the elongate member and the wall of the body lumen until the plurality of tissue engaging portions penetrate the wall of the body lumen. Once the clip penetrates the wall, the elongate member can be withdrawn from the body lumen, leaving the clip to substantially close the opening in the wall of the body lumen.

A method for closing an opening in a wall of a body lumen wherein an elongate member is advanced into the body lumen and a distal portion of an obturator is positioned distally beyond the distal end of the elongate member within the body lumen and in which one or more expandable elements on the distal portion of the obturator are expanded. The obturator is then withdrawn until the expandable elements contact the wall of the body lumen and a clip having tines is advanced over the elongate member until the tines penetrate the wall of the body lumen. The tines and the expandable elements are offset from one another. The elongate member is withdrawn from the body lumen and the clip substantially closes the opening in the body lumen.

The body is biased towards a planar configuration lying in the plane and deflectable towards a transverse configuration extending out of the plane. Tines extend from the inner curved regions, the tines being oriented towards the central axis in the planar configuration, and parallel to the central axis in the transverse configuration. The tines may include primary tines and secondary tines that are shorter than the primary tines. The primary tines may be disposed on opposing inner curved regions and oriented towards one another such that they overlap in the planar configuration.
