The perforated grid is preferably made from plastic and is designed to protect the display from impact damage whilst allowing the screen to be visible through the perforations. The grid may be made up of a number of smaller units which may be replaced if they get damaged.

A bearing composed of an inner race, two outer races concentric therewith and spaced axially from each other to leave a gap between them. There is also a microcontroller disposed in the housing and a motion/orientation detection device disposed within or on the housing and in communication with the microcontroller. A device for training users in a proper mixing of pharmaceutical components , the device comprising:a housing that extends along a longitudinal axis;a power source disposed in the housing;a microcontroller disposed in the housing and electrically powered by the power source;a user notification device; andan accelerometer disposed in the housing and electrically connected to the microcontroller so that the microcontroller is configured to detect a motion and orientation of the housing and indicate via the user notification device as to whether the motion or orientation of the housing being shaken during one of a drug administration or a training event is sufficient with respect to predetermined thresholds including magnitude of the force applied during the shaking, the orientation of the housing and duration of such shaking.2. A small projector uses an ultra-dense array of gallium nitride (GaN) LEDs. However, epitaxial growth of GaN typically produces a GaN region that is 5 um or thicker. To achieve high pixel density, the LEDs have small area, so the resulting LED structures are tall and skinny. This is undesirable because it makes further processing more difficult and has higher optical losses. As a result, it is beneficial to reduce the thickness of the GaN region. In one approach, a wafer with the GaN region on substrate is bonded to a backplane wafer containing LED driver circuits. The substrate is then separated from the GaN region, exposing a buffer layer of the GaN region. The GaN region is thinned and then patterned into individual LEDs. Typically, the buffer layer is removed entirely.

Production of high titer helper-free retroviruses by transient transfection

A method for producing high-titer, helper-free infectious retroviruses is disclosed which employs a novel strategy that uses transient transfection of new retroviral producer cell lines, ecotropic line BOSC 23 and amphotropic line CAK 8, both of which cell lines and their precursor cell lines are disclosed. Because of the advantages over stable packaging cell lines, the BOSC 23 and CAK 8 transient transfection systems greatly facilitate and extend the use of helper-free retroviral vectors. The cell lines and corresponding methods possess wide application in both the medical and biotechnical fields, including gene therapy. These potential applications are disclosed and illustrated.
