Foldable display device

A foldable display device wherein the device can fold inwardly and fold outwardly. The device includes a first casing 101 and a second casing 102 connected by a hinge, the casings supporting a first area and a second area of a display panel 130 respectively, and a support 160 disposed between the first casing and the second casing. The support body supports the display panel based on the folding direction of the foldable display device and includes a support body 161 which ascends toward the display panel during the out-folding operation and descends toward a bottom face of the hinge cover during the in-folding operation. The support body is lifted and lowered by at least two driving gears 163, 164 rotating in engagement with each other. The hinge comprises a pair of hinge shafts rotatably coupled to a pair of gears.

The device may include a sliding plate 150 to account for the different radius of the fold. The hinge may operate through 360 degrees.
