A sensor 1 for determining presence or quantity of analyte (eg free chlorine) in a sample comprises an elongate substrate with first end 11 and second end 13, first, second and third conductive tracks deposited on the substrate forming a reference electrode 4, counter electrode 5 and working electrode 6. A second working electrode 7 may be included. Each electrode terminates in a contact 10. A non-conductive layer is deposited on the conductive tracks to expose each contact 10 and expose regions of the tracks near the second end 13. A reagent of salt ABTS or salt SBT is deposited on or near discrete working regions of the third conductive track working electrode. Doses of potassium chloride 15 acting as a supporting electrolyte may be included between the reference and counter electrodes.
