Reset lockout and trip for circuit interrupting device

This invention relates to a circuit interrupting device having a trip button for disconnecting a load from a source of electrical power and a reset button for resetting the device after it has tripped. When the device is operating in its reset state, a source of electrical power is connected to a load through a set of contacts located within the device. The contacts are held closed by the spring loaded reset button which holds captive and urges a latch plate to move up to close normally open contacts. In the preferred mechanical trip mechanism, depressing the trip button causes the latch plate to move forward and be released from the reset button. The latch plate, upon being released from the reset button moves down to allow the contacts, which are biased to be normally open, to assume their normally open position. At this time, pressing the reset button initiates an electrical cycle which causes the normally open contacts to close only if the device is operating properly and there is no fault on the line. The device described is mechanically tripped and electrically reset, and it can be tripped without power being supplied to the device.

A typical duplex GFCI receptacle has two buttons, a test button that, when pressed, shuts off power to the receptacle and down stream devices, and a reset button that, when pressed, restores power to the GFCI and down stream devices. Generally, the test button is pressed to verify that the GFCI will interrupt power to the conductive paths and the reset button is pressed to reset the GFCI. In operation, the test portion of the GFCI will automatically break electrical continuity in one or more conductive paths (i.e., open the conductive path) between line and load sides upon the detection of a fault such as a reverse wiring condition, a ground fault, an open neutral and/or a defective GFCI device. When this happens the reset button in the typical GFCI receptacle is then pressed in an to attempt to restore power. The GFCI here disclosed has only one button (30) which is used for both the test and reset operation. It is pressed to test the GFCI and its associated circuitry for operability and, only if all circuits are operable, upon release it resets the GFCI by closing open conductive paths. If, during operation, the test portion of the GFCI detects a fault and operates to shut off power to the receptacle (21) and down stream devices, the pressing and releasing of the single button will reconnect power to the receptacle (21) and down stream devices only if the GFCI is operational, if an open neutral condition does not exists and/or if the device is not reversed wired.

ABSTRACT The invention is a method and apparatus for counting multiple categories of combinations of threshold and window event signals generated by a multi-parameter flow cytometer instrument. The generation of event signals for each monitored parameter indicates that the detected parameter signal is above one or more pre-deter-mined thresholds and/or within one or more windows or ranges. Counting the occurrence of each of said combinations is accom-plished by using the event signals as an address code which is applied to a pre-programmed memory. Said pre-programmed memory generates data corresponding to a relative address location for each combination of the multiple-category event combinations. The relative address is used by a microprocessor to access a particular address location of a random access memory, the data at said particular address location being incremented each time the data is so accessed. The data in the address locations of the random access memory may be displayed or used for analysis or experiment control purposes.

A blocking member located within the body of the GFCI is adapted to be moved to a first position to blocks at least one opening of each receptacle, or to a second position to allow the prongs of a plug to enter the receptacle openings. When the GFCI is in the conducting state, the reset button is in its first position and holds the blocking member in its first position to permit the prongs of a plug to be inserted into the receptacle openings. When the GFCI is in a non-conducting state or is defective, the reset button and the blocking member are in their second positions and the prongs of a plug are prevented from entering the receptacle.

A hot melt high temperature material application system with application device (120) pressure monitoring and heated recirculating manifold uses high temperature pressure transducers with each application device such as spray guns to monitor hot melt material application. A material supply line (110) fitting has a calibrated orifice at the interface with a device manifold (122) associated with each application device. In another embodiment, the calibrated orifice is located in a fluid passageway of the device manifold. The calibrated orifice corresponds in size to the opening of a nozzle of the application device. Heated recirculating manifolds are combined with hot melt material supply systems to provide uniform pressure to multiple application devices, and to recirculate material back through the supply system. Each recirculating manifold includes a heater, pressure regulator, and a recirculation path. The manifolds may be directly or remotely connected to one or more hot melt material supply systems.

A system and related methods for heating, cooling, and dehumidifying air is disclosed. In an embodiment, the system includes an indoor unit having a first coil assembly and a second coil assembly. When the system is operating in a cooling mode or a heating mode, the first coil and second coil are in parallel fluid communication. When the system is in a dehumidifying mode, the first coil and second coil are in serial fluid communication, which enables the first coil to function as a condenser and the second coil to function as an evaporator. In an embodiment, the system includes an outdoor unit, such as a heat pump or an air conditioning condensing unit. The outdoor unit includes a heat exchanger fan responsive to dehumidifying mode by reducing fan speed, or deactivating the fan entirely. The disclosed system provides negligible or no change in sensible heat while providing dehumidification.

When the hosiery item (1,2,3,4,5) is worn, the tension element (10) follows the contour of the wearer's foot and leg together with the material of the hosiery item (1,2,3,4,5) and becomes taut between the first and the second anchor loops (8, 9). The tension element (10) exerts a static force on the toe region of the foot which force follows the path of the tension element (10) along the material of the hosiery item (1,2,3,4,5). The static force is sufficient to maintain the foot at least substantially perpendicular the leg or in dorsiflexion; and to limit plantar flexion of the foot.
