In an a method to stabilize the ink meniscus at a nozzle opening of a nozzle of a print head including the nozzle and one or more adjacent nozzles to the nozzle, the nozzle can be induced to generate a signal pulse at an activation time. The signal pulse can be a pre-fire pulse (e.g. a negative pressure reduction pulse), where, for example, no ink is ejected. The inducement to generate the pulse can depend on the number of adjacent nozzles that eject ink at the activation time. The negative pressure in the nozzle can then be reduced, and nozzle failures due to air suction may be avoided. 1. The oscillation that is produced by the excitation pulse is thereby matched to the ejection pulse such that the ink droplets that are ejected by the ejection pulse in the subsequent line at least approximately has a defined target droplet velocity. The droplet velocity of the ejected ink droplets, and thus the droplet positioning, may thus be made uniform via the use of excitation pulses.

A method for improving the positioning of ink droplets of an inkjet printing device having a plurality of nozzles configured to print to a recording medium such that droplet velocities of ink droplets that are ejected by the plurality of nozzles depend on a line clock rate for operation of the inkjet printing device , the method comprising:providing velocity data for different subsets of the plurality of nozzles, wherein, for different line clock rates, the velocity data of a subset of the different subsets of the plurality of nozzles indicates a respective droplet velocity o ink droplets that have been ejected by one or more of the plurality of nozzles of the subset;determining, based on the velocity data for the different subsets of the plurality of nozzles, respective distance measurement values of the droplet velocities of the different subsets of the plurality of nozzles for the different line clock rates; anddetermining an operating line clock rate for the operation of the inkjet printing device based on the respective distance measurement values for the plurality of different line clock rates such that the distance measurement values are reduced.2. Water with added abrasive is used to scour out the interior of the pipeline. It is sprayed in pulses at a raised pressure of 100-4000 bar from a nozzle (8) into the line and led off at the end (2a) of the line sector being cleaned into a discharge line. This has a built-in separator (9) to remove entrained line wall incrustation solids from the water, and an appropriate filter (10) followed by an evacuator (11) which finally removes the solids via a line with a built-in silencer (12). The nozzle used may have several outlets coaxial with its longitudinal axis. It may have outlets which expand outwards in each case aided by deflectors to guide the issuing spray as required. Several channels within the nozzle are arranged in line with the nozzle axis or radiate outward, to the front or the rear.
