Hepatitis b core antigen fusion proteins.

Номер: AP0000001836A
Принадлежит:

The hepatitis B virus (HBV) capsid is made up of a single species of protein called the core antigen (HBcAg) which self-assembles into particles. The particles are highly immunogenic and are able to present heterologous epitopes to the immune system when the epitopes are inserted into a surface-exposed region of the particles called the "el loop". The structural building blocks of the particles are tightly associated dimers of HBcAg in which the adjacent el loops are closely juxtaposed. It is proposed that sequences inserted into the el loop are conformationally restrained in the assembled particles when presented in monomeric core protein. The invention seeks to solve this problem by covalently linking core proteins as tandem copies, e.g., as dimers, so that insertions can be made independently in each copy. This is particularly useful for insertion of large sequences into the el loop because it allows such sequences to be inserted into just one copy of the core protein per tandem repeat ...

A memory management unit includes a translation buffer unit for storing memory management attribute entries that originate from a plurality of different memory management contexts. Context disambiguation circuitry responds to one or more characteristics of a received memory transaction to form a stream identifier and to determine which of the memory management context matches that memory transaction. In this way, memory management attribute entries stored within the translation lookaside buffer are formed under control of the appropriate matching context. When the translation buffer unit receives a further transaction, then a further stream identifier is formed therefrom and if this matches the stream identifier of stored memory management attribute entries then those memory management attribute entries may be used (if appropriate) for that further memory transaction. 1. A data processing apparatus has a plurality of storage elements residing at different physical locations within the apparatus, and fault history circuitry for detecting local transient faults occurring in each storage element, and for maintaining global transient fault history data based on the detected local transient faults. Analysis circuitry monitors the global transient fault history data to determine, based on predetermined criteria, whether the global transient fault history data is indicative of random transient faults occurring within the data processing apparatus, or is indicative of a coordinated transient fault attack. The analysis circuitry is then configured to initiate a countermeasure action on determination of a coordinated transient fault attack. This provides a simple and effective mechanism for distinguishing between random transient faults that may naturally occur, and a coordinated transient fault attack that may be initiated in an attempt to circumvent the security of the data processing apparatus. 1. A data processing system includes a plurality of transaction masters () each with an associated local cache memory () and coupled to coherent interconnect circuitry (). Monitoring circuitry () within the coherent interconnect circuitry () maintains a state variable (flag) in respect of each of the transaction masters to monitor whether an exclusive store access state is pending for that transaction master. When a transaction master is to execute a store-exclusive instruction, then a current value of the subject state variable for that transaction master is compared with a previous value of that variable stored when the exclusive store access was setup. If there is a match, then store-exclusive instruction is allowed to proceed and the state variables of all other transaction masters for which there is a pending exclusive store access state are changed. If there is not a match, then the execution of the store-exclusive instruction is marked as failing. 120.-. (canceled)21. TRANSACTIONAL MEMORY SUPPORT

Номер: US20170017583A1
Принадлежит:

An asymmetric multiprocessor system () includes a plurality of processor cores () supporting transactional memory via controllers () as well as one or more processor cores which do not support transactional memory via hardware. The controllers respond to receipt of a request for exclusive access to a lock address by determining whether or not their associated processing element is currently executing a memory transaction guarded by a lock value stored at that lock address and if their processing element is executing such a transaction, then delaying releasing the lock address for exclusive access until a predetermined condition is met. If the processing element is not executing such a guarded memory transaction, then the lock address may be unconditionally released for exclusive access. The predetermined condition may be that a threshold delay has been exceeded since the request was received and/or that the request has previously been received and refused a threshold number of times. The request may arise through execution of a transaction start instruction which serves to read a lock address from an architectural register () storing the lock address should the processor executing that transaction start instruction not already be executing a pending memory transaction. If the processor is already executing a memory transaction, then the transaction start instruction need not access the lock value stored at the lock address held within the lock address register () as it may be assumed that the lock value has already been checked. 1. Apparatus for processing data and including hardware support for atomic memory transactions , said apparatus comprising:a plurality of processing elements each configured to execute a sequence of program instructions; anda memory configured to store data values shared by said plurality of processing elements; (i) when said transactional-memory-supporting processing element is executing a memory transaction guarded by said lock address, ...

BLIND AUTHENTICATOR

Номер: US20220038459A1
Принадлежит:

A blind authenticator performs an authentication procedure with two devices that provides the convenience offered by password storage but avoids storing the passwords themselves. Generally, the blind authenticator stores on the two devices portions of different code generation algorithms. These algorithms on the devices are incomplete—they may not execute properly on their own. During an authentication procedure, the blind authenticator communicates to the devices the remaining portions of these code generation algorithms so that the devices can execute their respective code generation algorithms. The devices then send the generated codes to the blind authenticator, which performs a code validation algorithm on the received codes to determine whether the codes are valid. The code validation algorithm is not sent to the devices, so the devices do not know what makes a code valid or invalid. 1. An apparatus comprising:a memory; and receive, from a first device, a request to initiate an authentication procedure with a second device, the first device storing a first portion of a first code generation algorithm, the second device storing a first portion of a second code generation algorithm;', 'in response to receiving the request, generate a second portion of the first code generation algorithm;', 'communicate the second portion of the first code generation algorithm to the first device;', 'receive, from the first device, a first code generated by executing the first and second portions of the first code generation algorithm;', 'after receiving the first code, generate a second portion of the second code generation algorithm;', 'communicate the second portion of the second code generation algorithm to the second device;', 'receive, from the second device, a second code generated by executing the first and second portions of the second code generation algorithm;', 'validate the first code with the second code using a code validation algorithm that is not communicated to ...

Apparatus comprising cache storage and a method of operating such a cache storage are provided. Data blocks in the cache storage have capability metadata stored in association therewith identifying whether the data block specifies a capability or a data value. At least one type of capability is a bounded pointer. Responsive to a write to a data block in the cache storage a capability metadata modification marker is set in association with the data block, indicative of whether the capability metadata associated with the data block has changed since the data block was stored in the cache storage. This supports the security of the system, such that modification of the use of a data block from a data value to a capability cannot take place unless intended. Efficiencies may also result when capability metadata is stored separately from other data in memory, as fewer accesses to memory can be made.
