Systems and methods for electronic stethoscope wireless auscultation

A method of operating an electronic stethoscope in either a wireless digital mode, e.g. a wireless speaker 186, or a wired digital mode e.g. earphones 117, depending on a user action. The user action may be the inserting of a headphone jack into a socket or manually switching between modes using a switch, button etc. or via an interface of the electronic stethoscope or audio device. The switching action may turn on or turn off the power to the speakers or turning off and/or activating a wireless transceiver of the stethoscope and establishing a connection with the wireless device. In the wireless digital mode, audio data may be sent to at least one external device, such as a phone, tablet, headphones, PC in real time. Where the data is transmitted to a computing device, it is preferred that this happens while in a background mode. The data may be transmitted from the computing device to a separate speaker (190).
