This invention is directed to a process for producing a haloorganoalkoxysilane product comprising reacting an olefinic halide, an alkoxysilane, a catalytically effective amount of ruthenium-containing catalyst; and a reaction-promoting effective amount of a peroxy compound, optionally in the presence of an electron-deficient aromatic compound. 2. The process of claim 1 , wherein the olefinic halide is selected from the group consisting of allyl chloride claim 1 , methallyl chloride claim 1 , 3-chloro-1-butene claim 1 , 3 claim 1 ,4-dichloro-1-butene claim 1 , 2-chloropropene claim 1 , and combinations thereof.3. The process of claim 1 , wherein said alkoxysilane is selected from the group consisting of trimethoxysilane claim 1 , methyldimethoxysilane claim 1 , dimethylmethoxysilane claim 1 , triethoxysilane claim 1 , methyldiethoxysilane claim 1 , dimethylethoxysilane claim 1 , ethyldiethoxysilane claim 1 , diethylethoxysilane claim 1 , and combinations thereof.4. The process of claim 1 , wherein said reaction-promoting effective amount of said peroxy compound ranges from about 1 to about 2000 ppm claim 1 , based on the total weight of the reaction mass.5. The process of claim 1 , wherein said peroxy compound is selected from the group consisting of hydroperoxides claim 1 , dialkyl peroxides claim 1 , Group 14 hydroperoxides and peroxides claim 1 , diacyl peroxides claim 1 , ketone peroxides claim 1 , peroxy dicarbonates claim 1 , peroxy esters claim 1 , peroxy ketals claim 1 , and combinations thereof.6. The process of claim 5 , wherein said peroxy compounds have (T claim 5 , 1 h) values in the range 30-200° C.7. The process of claim 5 , wherein said hydroperoxides have the formula R—O—O—H or RC(O—O—H) claim 5 , wherein R is a C1 to C25 group that is linear or branched claim 5 , saturated or unsaturated claim 5 , cyclic claim 5 , aromatic or alkaryl.8.
