Auf der dem Hohlraum (3) abgewandten Seite des inneren Zellmantels (5) ist ein Kanal (6) vorgesehen. Der Kanal (6) ist wenigstens bereichsweise von einem Fluid durchströmbar und es ist wenigstens im Bereich des Kanals (6) über den inneren Zellmantel (5) Wärme aus dem Hohlraum (3) an das Fluid abgebbar. Erfindungsgemäß sind dem inneren Zellmantel (5) im Bereich des Kanals (6) wenigstens abschnittsweise eine Wärmeaustauschfläche zwischen dem inneren Zellmantel (5) und dem Fluid vergrößernde Mittel (7) zugeordnet.

Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass im Heizbetrieb das Schaltventil (58) in der Bypassleitung (56) geöffnet und der Duchfluss von Kältemittel durch den Gaskühler (42) unterbrochen wird, sobald sich auf der Luftseite des Gaskühlers (42) eine Eisschicht gebildet hat, die eine Grenzdicke überschreitet.

Upon the achievement of a predefined temperature, the at least one separator is at least partially impermeable to ions which can be generated in the electrochemical part ( 20 ). The battery cell ( 10 ) has a rapid discharge unit ( 30 ), which is connectable between the battery cell terminals ( 11, 12 ) and which, in a switched-in and consequently activated state, has a predefined resistance value. The predefined resistance value is selected such that, with the rapid discharge unit ( 30 ) switched-in, the at least one separator achieves the predefined temperature.
