A system for calculating a variability value that is indicative of AF by obtaining a signal sequence of a plurality of RR intervals by monitoring electrical activity of a patient's heart. Each RR interval is converted into an instantaneous heart rate value and sorted into ascending order. The difference between each successive heart rate is calculated, discarding the two largest differences. The variability value is calculated by adding the retained differences. 1. A system for calculating a variability value that is indicative of AF using a sequence of RR intervals , wherein said system comprises a non-volatile computer readable medium storing a plurality of programmatic instructions and wherein said programmatic instructions , when executed:obtain a signal sequence comprising a plurality of RR intervals wherein said signal sequence is obtained by monitoring the time intervals between successive heart beats of a patient's heart by measuring at least one of electrical activity; acoustic activity; trans-thoracic impedance; blood pressure; blood velocity; blood oxygenation; heart movement and/or deformation;convert each RR interval in said sequence into an instantaneous heart rate value;sort said instantaneous heart rate values into ascending order;calculate the difference between each successive heart rate;discard the two largest differences generated in the previous step; andcalculate a variability value by adding the retained differences.2. The system increases the friction between the tubes and the existing anti-vibration bars by pressing the tube bundle together in the out-of-plane direction. The invention involves a structure that develops forces by reacting either off the inner diameter of the tube bundle wrapper, or off an assembled stressor hoop, which is self-supporting on top of the tube bundle, or involves purposely deforming connecting hoops to bias the anti-vibration bars in a way that the tube U-bend is no longer planar. It imposes a controlled clamping and/or deforming force on the tube bundle, either by direct contact with the outer tubes or indirectly via the existing anti-vibration bar structure. 1. The inventive viscous damping tube stabilizer includes modules or capsules containing a viscous material. Adjacent capsules are linked end to end by a flexible cable, allowing the device o pass through curves such as the U-bend regions of steam generator tubes. The weight of the entire assembly will keep it essentially connected to the tube inner diameter such that any tube vibration is transmitted to the stabilizer. The viscous material may only partially fill the capsules such that even under small motion the material can slip and slide past each other, and/or bump into walls, each microscopically absorbing some of the tube energy. By creating multiple cells inside the capsule, the capsule then have good operating characteristics no matter to what angle the individual capsule is oriented as it rests on the full U-bend. The viscous material may completely fill the capsules, which also have a perforated member positioned therein. Relative movement of the capsule and disc causes the viscous material to pass through the perforations, providing damping resistance to the movement. 1. A method and apparatus for melting aluminum uses a dense metal salt of Rubidium, Cesium, or Strontium. The salt is melted by a stinger and then superheated by AC applied to electrodes immersed in the salt. Aluminum in contact with the salt melts and floats on the salt. The plate head is constituted by the same metal foam as the plate support, but the density of the metal foam in the plate head is not less than 2.5 times the density of the metal foam in the remainder of the electrode plate, the higher density of the plate head coming from an operation in which the foam of the support is compressed, the tab of the plate head emerging from the middle of the thickness of the plate and being derived from compression of the support in two directions: compression firstly in the direction of its height; and compression secondly in the direction of its thickness. Such an electrode plate is made from a plate of metal foam whose top edge is compressed so as to form the plate head. Compression takes place in the height direction and then in the thickness direction for the tab, and for the remainder of the length of the electrode, compression takes place at least in the height direction.

Another pulley is rotatably mounted by bearings on the sleeve and is driven by a drive belt connected to the second engine. The second propeller is telescopically located about the sleeve adjacent the first propeller and is firmly connected to the second pulley which rotates said second propeller completely independent of the first propeller and in an opposite direction than the first propeller. The sleeve which is attached to the aircraft frame provides the entire support for the two drive engines, pulleys, propellers and associated drive belts.

A continuous salt-based process is provided for melting and reclaiming aluminum from aluminum scrap containing impurities including heating a molten salt in a heat bay, mixing the heated salt with aluminum scrap or skim in a charge bay to form a molten charge mixture, separating aluminum from impurities in the charge bay by coalescing aluminum to form a molten aluminum metal pad, chlorinating a portion of the charge mixture from the charge bay to form a chlorinated salt mixture and metal chlorides, removing metal chlorides from the salt mixture, and feeding the salt mixture back to the heat bay. In one aspect, the chlorinating step of the present invention includes introducing carbon monoxide or, preferably, solid carbon to control oxide concentration. The process further comprises adding fluorides and removing metal chlorides from the salt to maintain a preferred salt composition. The metal chlorides can be removed by withdrawing volatile metal chloride gases and electrolytically reducing metal chlorides in the molten salt.

In an alternative arrangement the electrode position V2 is replaced by an electrode position Vc on the sternum directly between the standard electrode sites VI and V2. Also disclosed is a method of improving accuracy of synthesised signals by detecting body posture and modifying the transformations.

In one embodiment the present invention is directed to a method for producing a glycosylated iduronate-2-sulfatase enzyme which comprises culturing a host cell containing a nucleic acid encoding an enzymatically active iduronate-2-sulfatase polypeptide wherein the host cell glycosylates the polypeptide to a greater degree than a native iduronate-2-sulfatase polypeptide expressed by a natural human liver cell.
