A parallel flow filter-in-filter design for a filter system is provided. The lock that retains the head to the fluid filter is flexible to allow for connection and disconnection. The head has fluid inlet and outlet ports to which fluid lines attach to flow unfiltered fluid into and filtered fluid out of the fluid filter when the head is connected to the fluid filter. The head closes the fluid filter, which has a protrusion with adjacent passageways that guide and separate unfiltered from filtered fluid.

Filterüberwachungssystem („FMS“: Filter Monitoring System) zum Überwachen eines Filtrationssystems für einen Verbrennungsmotor, wobei das FMS Folgendes umfasst:ein FMS-Modul mit einem ersten Eingang, der mindestens einen Filtrationsparameter von einem Motor-Filtrationssystem zum Filtern eines Fluids in dem Verbrennungsmotor empfängt,einem zweiten Eingang, der mindestens einen Motorparameter von einem Motor-Steuermodul („ECM“: Engine Control Module) empfängt, wobei das ECM den Betrieb des Verbrennungsmotors steuert, wobei das FMS-Modul auf der Grundlage des Filtrationsparameters und des Motorparameters ein Befehlssignal über einen ersten Ausgang ausgibt, wobei der Filtrationsparameter von einem der Motor-Filtrationsvorrichtung zugeordneten Druck- oder Differenzdrucksensor bereitgestellt wird, und wobei das FMS-Modul dafür konfiguriert ist, einen Modus mit festem Wartungsintervall anzuwenden, wenn der Filtrationsparameter nicht zur Verfügung steht.

An upper endcap of a fuel filter cartridge includes a skirt, an axially extending pin surrounded by the skirt, and a plurality of ribs that define fluid flow channels leading to the pin. The pin is extendable through an axially facing fuel inlet opening at the upper end of a standpipe for actuating a valve to an open position allowing fuel to flow through the axially facing inlet opening and into the standpipe. The valve can include a hole that receives the pin therein to help stabilize the valve when the valve is actuated open.

Fluid filter and head with quick connector

A connection between a fluid filter and a head is described that permits quick connection/disconnection between the two without requiring disconnection of fluid lines from the head. The head includes a lock to connect inlet and outlet fluid lines to a fluid filter using a non-threaded attachment method. The lock that retains the head to the fluid filter is flexible to allow for connection and disconnection. The head has fluid inlet and outlet ports to which fluid lines attach to flow unfiltered fluid into and filtered fluid out of the fluid filter when the head is connected to the fluid filter. The head closes the fluid filter, which has a protrusion with adjacent passageways that guide and separate unfiltered from filtered fluid.
