A remote power controller module for use in power distribution systems having a number of current limiting channels that are capable of being paralleled to provide current pathways from a power source to a load. In one embodiment, the current limiting channels may contain control and monitoring circuitry for monitoring the trip status of all channels and for disabling all paralleled channels in response to the disablement of one channel. A data acquisition for use in a high-speed data bus interface is provided with an analog acquisition circuit having analog inputs, digital outputs, a load terminal, an end-of-conversion terminal, a strobe terminal, a multiplex address output and a channel select input. A static random access memory receives data produced at the digital output of the analog acquisition circuit and stores it in addresses corresponding to the multiplexed address outputs of the analog acquisition circuit. A simple logic control circuit having an AND gate, an OR gate and a one shot circuit is connected to control the operation of the analog acquisition to provide self-starting and free running operation with synchronous turn on and turn off to prevent data contamination when the circuit is stopped.

Method and circuit for voltage regulation of DC power sources

Voltage regulation of a DC electrical power source having a generator with an exciter field coil for producing an AC output voltage which is rectified to produce a DC output voltage, is accomplished by producing voltage signals proportional to the AC output voltage of the generator and the current in the generator exciter field winding, and combining these signals to produce a control signal. An additional voltage signal proportional to the DC output voltage of the power source is compared to a DC reference voltage signal to produce a trim error voltage signal. The trim error voltage signal is combined with an AC reference signal to produce an additional control signal. These control signals are compared and the result of that comparison is used to control the current in the generator exciter field winding.

A redundant power bus arrangement for electronic circuits controls the application of voltage from a power source to an active circuit card and a standby circuit card. Current limited switches are used to connect the power source to the active or standby circuits. A switch control circuit controls the conductive state of the current limited switches in response to a control signal generated by at least one of the controlled circuits. The maximum current permitted by each of the current limited switches is less than the maximum output current rating of the power source, thereby preventing a short on a power bus within one of the controlled circuits from affecting the voltage available for the other controlled circuit.

A phase detecting circuit for use in phase-locked loops is provided with a pair of bistable circuits such as type D flip-flops. One of the circuits is clocked by a reference input signal and reset by the Q output of the other circuit. The other circuit is clocked by a second data signal and reset by the NOT Q output of the first circuit. The average value of the voltage appearing on the NOT Q output of the first circuit is proportional to the phase difference between the reference data signal and the second data signal.
