Provided herein is a composition and a method for removing CHG from textiles. The composition is an acid-surfactant-based composition that may be used to remove CHG from a textile that has not been exposed to chlorine subsequent to being exposed to CHG. 1. A laundry stain removal composition for removing CHG from a textile , comprising an acid and a surfactant , wherein the composition is capable of preventing permanent stains derived from contact between CHG and chlorine bleach on the textile.2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition has a pH of less than or equal to 2.0.3. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises an acid selected from the group consisting of phosphoric acid claim 1 , hydrofluorosilicic acid claim 1 , citric acid claim 1 , sulfuric acid claim 1 , hydroxyacetic (glycolic) acid claim 1 , benzoic acid claim 1 , oxalic acid claim 1 , acetic acid claim 1 , formic acid claim 1 , malic acid claim 1 , succinic acid claim 1 , gluconic acid claim 1 , hydrochloric acid claim 1 , boric acid claim 1 , perchloric acid claim 1 , nitric acid claim 1 , nitrous acid claim 1 , sodium silicofluoride claim 1 , monosodium phosphate claim 1 , disodium phosphate claim 1 , and mixtures thereof.4. The composition of claim 2 , wherein the acid is 10% to 75% of the composition.5. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the surfactant is selected from the group consisting of nonylphenol ethoxylates having 6 to 15 EO units claim 1 , linear alcohol ethoxylates (C12-C15 having 5 to 12 EO units) claim 1 , linear alcohol ethoxylate (C12-C13 having 3 to 12 EO units) claim 1 , linear alcohol ethoxylate (C12-C15 alcohol having 5 to 12 EO units) claim 1 , cocodiethanolamide claim 1 , cocamido-propyl-betaine claim 1 , phosphate polyether ester claim 1 , and mixtures thereof.6.
