To the operating valves (4) oil is fed from the hydraulic pump (1) via an oil channel (3). Several hydraulic cylinders (5) are incorporated, corresponding to the operating valves. The upper oil chambers of the hydraulic cylinders are connected via oil channels (6a) and pressure compensation valves (7) with the operating valves. The lower oil chambers are connected via a pressure compensation valve in an oil channel (6b) with the operating valves. The load pressure (P1) of the hydraulic cylinders connected with the oil channels acts on each of the channels. The highest load pressure under that acting on the oil channels is recognised by an exchange valve (8) as the maximum load pressure (P LS). The maximum load pressure acts via a load pressure recognition channel (9) on the hydraulic pump, the pressure compensation valves (7), the pressure unloading regulating valve (10) and the regulatable outlet valve (11).

A pressure compensating valve (7) comprises a main valve (20) that is operated in such a way as to increase the area of the opening between an inlet port (24) and an outlet port (25) by means of pressure acting on a first pressure receiving component (21). The pressure compensating valve (7) is also operated in such a way as to reduce the area of the opening by means of pressure acting on a second pressure receiving component (22) and pressure acting on a third pressure receiving component (23). The pressure compensating valve (7) is designed to allow the pressure (Pa) of the pressurized oil flowing to the inlet port (24) to act on the first pressure receiving component (21) and the pressure (Pb) of the load driven by the pressurized oil flowing from the outlet port (25) to act on the second pressure receiving component (22). The operating valve action detection device includes a pressure reduction valve (3). This valve, which supplies fluid to the operating valve (4), is made so that it is pressed in the direction reducing the aperture upstream of the operating valve becomes smaller, and in the direction in which the aperture is made larger by downstream pressure from the operating valve. An auxiliary aperture (10) allows fluid to drain out when the aperture in the pressure reduction valve exceeds a certain size.
