The coupler link comprises first 190 and second 199 ends, and first 204 and second 208 legs extending parallel to each other between the ends. The first and second legs at least partially define first and second interior pockets 210 adjacent each end. First and second bearings (206 figure 7) are positioned within the respective pockets, with each bearing comprising a substantially spherical outer surface with a planar portion. Each bearing also comprises an aperture which receives a pin for pivoting movement, the pin coupling the coupler link to the first or second link. A second embodiment has the coupler link with first and second ends and first and second legs which define a first interior pocket which accommodates a first bearing with a spherical outer surface with a planar portion. It further comprises a gusset 202 connecting the two legs, the gusset positioned between the two ends and oriented at an oblique angle relative to a longitudinal axis between the two ends. A solid lubricant can be used within the bearings and/or on the outer spherical surface of the bearing.

A link for a conveyor chain includes a first portion and a second portion laterally spaced apart from the first portion. The first portion includes a first sprocket-engaging pin, and the second portion includes a second sprocket-engaging pin. The first sprocket-engaging pin and the second sprocket-engaging pin protrude laterally away from one another. The first sprocket engaging pin and the second sprocket-engaging pin may each have an oblong cross-section.
