Das Poliermittel der vorliegenden Erfindung hat einen pH von bevorzugt 7 oder mehr. Es ist insbesondere bevorzugt, Mangandioxid als abrasive Partikel zu verwenden. Das Poliermittel der vorliegenden Erfindung ist geeignet für ein Substrat aus Siliciumcarbid.
