To provide a polarizing plate comprising layers of a polarizing film, made of a polyvinylalcohol resin and a cellulose acetate protective film laminated with an adhesive, having improved adhesion properties under high heat and humidity conditions, and to provide a method for manufacturing a polarizing plate without having to make large changes in the facility for manufacturing a polarizing plate.The polarizing plate comprises layers of a polarizing film, made of a polyvinylalcohol resin and a cellulose acetate protective film laminated, on at least one surface of the polarizing film with an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer comprises a polyester ionomer urethane resin. The method for manufacturing the polarizing plate is carried out, by laminating a cellulose protective film on a polarizing film made of a polyvinylalcohol resin via an aqueous adhesive containing a polyester ionomer urethane resin.
