The invention discloses a starting method of a pre-baked anode roasting furnace. The starting method improves the current starting method. When the roasting furnace is started, light oil with lower burning point is injected into a corresponding flame path in a starting chamber directly. Heat generated by the burning of the light oil heats up the injection point of heavy oil until the temperature of the injection point reaches the burning point of the heavy oil and remains stable. And then, the heavy oil is injected into the flame part and ignited for starting the roasting furnace. With adopting the starting method for starting the roasting furnace, as the light and the heavy oils are injected into the same flame path, the injection point of the heavy oil can be heated up to the burning point of the heavy oil quickly and the heavy oil is ignited.
