Selective insect neonicotinoids is a class of pesticide active ingredients that share some characteristics in their chemical structures and bind to the nAChR acetylcholine receptors. Formulation of such compounds in oil suspension or oil dispersion is challenging due to their electrostatic interactions of the heteroatoms in oily media, that lead to irreversible flocculation or diminished homogeneicity and bleeding of such oil dispersions. Imidacloprid, Thiamethoxam, Thiachloprid, Nitenpyram, Acetamiprid, Clothianidin and Dinetofuran and derivatives thereof with nAChR binding ability are successfully formulated in oil suspension with the use of certain copolymeric anionic fatty-acid based dispersants, sorbitan derivatives, ionic surfactants, other non-ionic surfactants and inorganic polyvalent cationic salt dispersed in the oil. The formulations this way produced show excellent storage stability properties regarding physiochemical parameters, including stability of the neonicotinoid active ingredient, reduced bleeding, and complete redispersibility. Further, they show excellent biological efficacy due to the reduced and homogeneous particle size below 2 μm when diluted—emulsified—in water.

Methods and compositions based upon natural phenolic aromatic aldehydes (ex: cinnamaldehyde, benzaldehyde) are provided, which find use as curing agents for systemic bacterial infections of living plants, in particular against Gram negative bacteria and more particularly species of Liberibacter, including Ca. Liberibacter asiaticus. The curing agent compositions described are used synergistically with other antimicrobial compounds, such as those that plants manufacture or release as a result of biotic or abiotic stresses, including the application of the subject aldehydes, certain proteins, whether produced by recombinant methods or not, nanoparticles, nanoemulsions, or by natural essential oils such as carvacrol or allicin. The aromatic aldehydes have high volatility and exhibit phytotoxicity when applied above certain amounts. Systemic infections and infestations of a variety of plant parts can be treated, including those of leaves and roots. Methods of applying the compositions for agriculture use are disclosed. 1. A composition useful for treating one or more plants infected with at least one bacterial plant pathogen , the composition comprising at least one aromatic aldehyde and a formulation comprising a nanoemulsion and/or nanoparticles containing the aromatic aldehyde.2. A method for removing ectoparasites from a fish in water may comprise administering to the fish a neonicotinoid to remove the ectoparasites from the fish and exchanging the water comprising the neonicotinoid and the removed ectoparasites with replacement water, thereby separating the removed ectoparasites and the fish. The disclosure provides for methods for reducing dust by treating a seed with a dust reducing composition described herein. The disclosure also provides for methods of reducing exposure to vacuum planter dust released during seed planting by applying a composition described herein to a seed. Methods for increasing seed lubricity by coating a seed with a composition described herein are also provided for. Compositions and seeds useful in these methods are also described. 1. A method of reducing or controlling seed dust comprisingtreating a seed with a dust reducing composition comprising:(a) one or more active agents selected from the group consisting of an insecticide, pesticide, and fungicide;(b) three or more dust reducing agents selected from the group consisting of(i) a poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) copolymer or poly(vinyl acetate)/poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) copolymer;(ii) an ethoxylated fatty acid;(iii) a sorbitan monooleate;(iv) an ethoxylated and propoxylated alkyl alcohol;(v) an ethoxylated oleyl alcohol; and(vi) an oil; and(c) a polyurethane composition or dispersion;andreducing or controlling dust on the seed.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said one or more active agents is selected from the group consisting of acetamiprid claim 1 , clothianidin claim 1 , dinotefuran claim 1 , imidacloprid claim 1 , nitenpyram claim 1 , thiacloprid claim 1 , thiamethoxam claim 1 , and combinations thereof.3. The most common invertebrate pests in turf are certain worms, e.g. Armyworm, ants, e.g. fire ants, bugs and in particular white grubs, which are larvae of different kinds of insects, mainly of bugs. They usually live in the soil and damage the turf grass plants by feeding on their roots. The turf pests can be efficiently combated or controlled by the methods and uses of the invention. By this treatment, the turf forms an intact cover of the soil. Uniform, green, aesthetically pleasing and healthy turf is obtained, e.g. for golf courses, athletic fields including football or soccer fields, cemeteries, sod farms or gardens (lawn). Healthy turf can efficiently protect the soil and prevent erosion.

ACTIVITY : Insecticide. The insecticidal activity of Gaucho 600 WS(RTM: Imidacloprid) (a) was tested on rice plants. The results showed that (a) (0.60 g/kg seeds) exhibited an improvement of plant response by 39.6 number of accumulated crops/m 2>compared to untreated rice plants (25.2 number of accumulated crops/m 2>). MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.

The present invention uses compound 3-OH-ß-apo-13-carotenone (zaxinone) as a negative regulator of the plant hormone strigolactones (SLs). The compound 3-OH-ß-apo-13- carotenone is a positive growth regulator which triggers the formation of crown roots and promotes growth in size and number of roots and shoots. Disclosed herein is a method of using 3-OH-ß-apo-13-carotenone as a growth-promoting compound for cereal, grain and vegetable crops. The 3-OH-ß-apo-13-carotenone compounds is also a negative regulator of strigolactone biosynthesis and release. Disclosed herein is a method of combating root parasitic weeds affecting cereal, grain and vegetable crops. Application of 3-OH-ß-apo-13-carotenone to plant growth media down-regulates strigolactone production in cereal, grain and vegetable crops preventing root parasitic weed infestation of the crops by inhibiting germination of parasitic weed seeds.
