In order to check the effect of the setting change, a current frequency response after variation of the setting is determined by providing a constant noise signal or a single sinusoidal sweep at the input of the hearing apparatus and level measurement at the output. This frequency response measurement can be carried out as a second step considerably more quickly than the very precise percentile analysis at the start of the process.

The present invention relates to recipient fitting of a hearing device. An embodiment of the present invention determines the transmission loss for sound applied to the recipient by the hearing device. Separate gains are then determined for compensating for the determined transmission loss and the measured hearing loss of the recipient. For example, in an embodiment, the hearing device may compensate for transmission losses in a 1:1 manner (i.e., the transmission loss in 100% compensated for). The hearing device may apply a different gain to compensate for the hearing loss, such as a gain that is a fraction (e.g., 33-55%) of the measured hearing loss.

An exemplary system includes 1) a stimulation management facility configured to direct an electro-acoustic stimulation (“EAS”) system to concurrently apply acoustic stimulation to a patient by way of a loudspeaker and electrical stimulation to the patient by way of an electrode located within a cochlea of the patient during a fitting session, and 2) a fitting facility communicatively coupled to the stimulation management facility and configured to detect, during the fitting session, an interaction between the acoustic stimulation and the electrical stimulation, and set, during the fitting session, one or more control parameters governing an operation of the EAS system based on the detected interaction. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed. 1. A system comprising:a stimulation management facility configured to direct an electro-acoustic stimulation (“EAS”) system to concurrently apply acoustic stimulation to a patient by way of a loudspeaker and electrical stimulation to the patient by way of an electrode located within a cochlea of the patient during a fitting session; and detect, during the fitting session, an interaction between the acoustic stimulation and the electrical stimulation, and', 'set, during the fitting session, one or more control parameters governing an operation of the EAS system based on the detected interaction., 'a fitting facility communicatively coupled to the stimulation management facility and configured to'}2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interaction between the acoustic stimulation and the electrical stimulation results in the acoustic stimulation being suppressed by the electrical stimulation claim 1 , and wherein the fitting facility is configured to set the one or more control parameters by adjusting the one or more control parameters in a manner that reduces the suppression of the acoustic stimulation by the electrical stimulation.3. A portable hearing test apparatus is arranged in an earphone and includes a microphone, an automatic noise elimination module, a mixer and an output unit. The microphone receives an external noise signal. The automatic noise elimination module converts the external noise signal into an inverse acoustic signal and sends the inverse acoustic signal to the mixer to mix with an audio signal provided by an electronic apparatus to obtain a mixed signal. Amplitude of the inverse acoustic signal is equal to amplitude of the external noise signal. Phase of the inverse acoustic signal and phase of the external noise signal are reverse. The mixer sends the mixed signal to the output unit to send out to cancel out the external noise signal, so that only the audio signal provided by the electronic apparatus is heard. Systems and methods for processing an audio signal are provided for server-mediated sound personalization on a plurality of consumer devices. A user hearing test is conducted on one of a plurality of audio output devices. Next, the hearing data of the user's hearing test is outputted to a server and stored on the server's database along with a unique user identifier. Next, a set of DSP parameters for a sound personalization algorithm are calculated from the user's hearing data. The DSP parameter set is then outputted to one of a plurality of audio output devices when the user logs in with their unique identifier on an application on the audio output device.
