The same hospital bed may be employed for labor, delivery and recovery by providing two different adjustable back support sections in the mattress supporting structure. The expectant mother occupies the entire bed during labor and one back support, at the head end of the bed, may be tilted upward to raise the patient's back and head to maximize comfort. Prior to delivery, the patient is moved to the foot end of the bed and a second back support is tilted upward so that the patient will be held in a semi-sitting optimum position for delivery. The patient's legs may be held at a desired elevated level by a pair of crutches. In effect, the bed is convertible from a somewhat conventional hospital bed to an obstetrical table. After delivery, the second back support may be lowered so that the entire bed may then be used by the patient for recovery.

A muscle tension relief device includes a first base portion extending in a first plane, a second base portion extending in a second plane, and a muscle engagement feature extending generally upwardly. There is a non-zero angle extending between the first plane and the second plane. The device is configured to engage with and relieve tension in a user's iliacus or psoas muscles. The device can transition from a first position resting on the first base portion to a second position resting on the second base portion to cause the muscle engagement feature to change orientation to apply pressure at the proper position on a user's psoas major muscle. The shape of an upper portion of a body of the device and the muscle engagement feature correspond to the shape of a hand, such as that of a physical therapist.

A first air cylinder serves to elevate the column. A second air cylinder imposes a force against the detent means to provide a braking effect to hold the column at the upper limit of travel when the column is raised with a patient lying in part on the body support. When air pressure is shut off to both cylinders, the first cylinder retracts and air pressure is trapped in the second cylinder. The force imposed by the air pressure in the second cylinder to maintain the braking effect is substantially equal to the force required to lift the weight of the patient carried on the body support. The braking effect is overcome when a chiropractic thrust is applied to the body of a patient.

Medical console with air cleaning system comprises bearing housing made single-section in form of semi-enclosed shaped profile, detachable panel installed on open side of profile cavity, and end panels installed on lateral sides of bearing housing. End panels are made with openings. Console equipment is arranged on said detachable front panel with communication lines in profile cavity. Air cleaning system comprises cleaning unit and fan arranged in cavity of said profile so that cleaning unit including at least molecular filter in form of photocatalytic filter and source of UV radiation A range is located between said openings in end panels, and fan is arranged above cleaning unit near supply opening made in upper wall of bearing housing. Invention discloses an alternative embodiment of the console, differing in that the housing is multi-sectional. This table consists of: a plane made of two equal parts quilted (padded) with foam 5 and covered with "skai" 6, the whole being articulated by a piano hinge: 8 folding legs comprising 4 central legs 8 which can be folded automatically by means of a pentograph system pivoting on a axle 9, as well as 4 side legs 10 which can be folded manually by means of 4 folding struts with automatic locking 12. An adjustable and built-in head section 20 allows massaging on the stomach, two built-in handles 18 allow it to be transported. The kinesitherapy apparatus is used for rehabilitation of the lower limbs of a patient. It has a support, preferably upholstered, supporting the renal region of the user's back. Means are provided for the removable mounting of this support near the edge of the working surface on which therapy is carried out and on one side of it or the other. Thus as the user lies on the working surface, the renal region can be wedged against the support. There can be a mast, to which the support is fixed at right angles, and which itself is removably mounted on one side or the other of the working surface. Two parts mounted on the mast form a vice, one of them at least sliding on the mast, so as to grip the working surface from above and below.
