The present disclosure relates to a two-component system for straightening and care of keratinous material, wherein the two-component system separately comprising an anhydrous carrier medium that comprises an alkane, a fatty alcohol, and an alcohol, and an aqueous phase, which in turn contains an alkali metal hydroxide. The present disclosure further relates to the use of the two-component system for straightening hair. 1. A two-component system for the straightening and care of keratinous material , separately comprisingan anhydrous carrier medium as a first component, the anhydrous carrier medium comprising:a) at least one branched or linear C8-C30 alkane,b) at least one branched or linear C10-C30 fatty alcohol, andc) at least one branched or linear monovalent C2-C8 alcohol, andan aqueous phase as a second component, the aqueous phase comprising water and an alkali metal hydroxide.2.
