A method for producing a cylinder tube (), which is closed at the end so as to be fluid-tight, from a tubular blank (). The blank () is formed into the cylinder tube () with the aid of a cold forming method in such a way that on an end region () of the cylinder tube () an opening () remains in the cylinder tube (), a mounting region () is produced in the radially outer edge region () of the end region () and the cylinder tube () is closed by fluid-tight attachment on the mounting region () of an end piece () which closes the opening ().
