Пруток подвергают механической обработке и правке-полировке. На концах прутка накатывают резьбу, а перед резьбой высаживают утолщение. На утолщение каждого конца прутка устанавливают упорное кольцо и закрепляют. На резьбу навинчивают с натягом резьбовые головки. На одной резьбовой головке выполняют внешнюю и внутреннюю резьбу. На другой резьбовой головке выполняют только внутреннюю резьбу. На боковых поверхностях резьбовых головок предусмотрены лыски. Используют упорное кольцо с коническим отверстием. Установку упорного кольца могут производить под прессом в нагретом или холодном состоянии. In one method a heated slug 17, Fig. 1, resting on one or more cold tapered inserts 12 having V-shaped cutting edges 13 lying against the base of a die 11 is acted upon by a top die 10 so that the metal flows round the faces of each insert embedding it in the resulting groove 19, Fig. 3, as the drill bit 18 is formed. A spigot 16 in the die 10 forms a socket in the shank of the bit. In a modification the heated end of a drill-steel is forced into the die and around the insert. Alternatively the insert 12, Fig. 4, may be placed in a groove 31 of a preformed drill bit 30 which is closed over the insert by coacting dies 32, 33. The insert may in all cases be roughened, fluted, &c.

The outer groove side wall includes radial notches or grooves which receive panel metal to provide anti-torque means. The improved die button includes an annular lip having an inside piercing edge spaced from the end to pierce a smaller slug and an annular convex fillet which deforms more panel metal into the nut groove to form a secure mechanical interlock between the nut and panel.

Mounting rings and methods for mounting structures to shafts are provided. The rings and methods may be used to mount other rings or housings to a shaft. The rings are characterized by having flexible inner diameters that can deflect under a radial load. The radial deflection of the inner diameter permits the rings to deflect and engage an outer diameter of a shaft. The engagement of the rings with a shaft provides at least some resistance to movement, for example, rotation and/or axial displacement, of the shaft relative to the ring and structure. A method for producing a single-clad or multiple-clad product includes providing a welded assembly comprising a cladding material disposed on a substrate material. Both the substrate material and the cladding material are individually selected alloys. At least a first edge of the cladding material of the welded assembly does not extend to a first edge of the substrate material and thereby provides a margin between the first edges. A material that is an alloy having hot strength greater than the cladding material is within the margin and adjacent the first edge of the cladding material. The welded assembly is hot rolled to provide a hot rolled band, and the material within the margin inhibits the cladding material from spreading beyond the edge of the substrate material during the hot rolling. In certain embodiments of the methods, the substrate material is stainless steel and the cladding material is nickel or a nickel alloy. 1. An improved embolic filter frame is provided. The filter frame provides enhanced longitudinal compliance, improved sealing, low profile delivery, and short deployed length. The looped support struts have high “radial” stiffness with low “longitudinal” stiffness. When deployed, the frame exerts a relatively high stress onto a vessel wall to maintain an effective seal, yet remains longitudinally compliant. Minor displacements of the support wire or catheter are therefore not translated to the filter. The looped support struts elongate when tensioned and assume a compressed and essentially linear form. When the delivery catheter constraint is removed, the struts “snap open” and assume a looped configuration, exerting a high degree of force onto the vessel wall, creating an enhanced filter to vessel wall seal.

A die case extractor and method for extracting a die case from a die bed. The die case extractor is engaged with the die case which is disposed in the die bed. The die case extractor is engaged by a pulling device, such as a ram. When the pulling device is retracted from the die bed, the die case extractor pulls on the die case, thereby extracting the die case from the die bed. Preferably, the die case extractor includes a bracing piece that is engaged with the die case. The die case extractor also preferably includes a member, such as a screw, which is engaged with the bracing piece. A holder is retained on the member and is engaged by the ram. The ram is then retracted generally away from the die bed, thereby pulling on the die case and extracting the die case from the die bed. Preferably, multiple die case extractors can be used simultaneously to extract a plurality of die cases in a single pulling action of the ram. 1. A die case extractor which is configured to be used by a pulling device to extract a die case from a die bed , said die case extractor being configured to be retained by the pulling device , wherein the die case extractor is configured to engage the die case and pull on the die case when the pulling device is retracted from the die bed , thereby extracting the die case from the die bed.2.
