A pattern structure of a photomask for a patterned sapphire substrate (PPS) and an exposure method are disclosed. The pattern structure is formed by stitching a plurality of identical polygons each including at least two sector-shaped opaque areas () and one transparent area (). The polygons are joined together by stitching the sector-shaped opaque areas () into round opaque areas (). Boundary areas of the photomask that are unable to accommodate a complete one of the polygons are configured as opaque areas (). This pattern structure ensures that the round opaque areas () near the frames will not be affected by lighting conditions. During the exposure of another identical PSS photomask pattern, it only needs to superimpose it with the first photomask pattern at their frames to allow the part other than the frame to be exposed. In this way, the photomask pattern and exposure method solves the problem of blurred pattern image edges arising from excessively narrow gaps between photomask frames and opaque areas (). 1. The present invention discloses a restoration solution for cine film bubble and a restoration method. The restoration solution comprises 100 parts by volume of n-butanol, 60 to 120 parts by volume of lacquer thinner having 5% by mass of ethyl cellulose, 8 to 20 parts by volume of diphenyl isooctyl phosphite, 2 to 10 parts by volume of bis (1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate, and 2 to 15 parts by volume of petroleum ether. The present invention integrates micro-restoration, bubble puncture and optical filling, and effectively restores a bubble having a diameter of 0.1 mm to 1 mm generated between a film base layer and an emulsion layer of a cine film. The present invention has advantages of simple method of operation, low cost and good controllability. And the used restoration solution has good thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and permeability, and can eliminate the phenomenon of light scattering within the bubble, so that patterns and writing of the original image data are explicitly presented, and a better restoration effect is achieved without damages to films. Therefore, the restoration solution has good application values and market prospects.

The text and illustration are first prepared on a video screen, using established techniques. The video images are encoded and stored in memory. In the second stage the screen image is re-assembled from memory and enlarged or reduced as required to form the final page image. A printing device is coupled to the video data memory and is able to copy faithfully the image on the screen onto a sheet of paper which is used as a source document for taking multiple copies.

The photocomposition apparatus allows a complex design to be built up on a photographic plate from simple elements stored on a negative film. The apparatus (1) consists of a light proof chamber (B) and a chamber open to the light (A). Identical negative films containing the design elements are placed (9, 10) in each of the two chambers. A dummy screen (17) allows the projection of the design elements through an objective lens (14) to be aligned as required by moving the trolley (7) on which the negatives sit, or the trolley on which the dummy screen (17) sits. Once alignment has been completed a shutter (16) is opened in the light proof box and the identical alignment of design elements is projected from the second negative (10) onto a photosensitive plate (18).

[Class 98 (ii)] In the bleaching of diazotype images for the purpose of correction with solutions of reducing agents (e.g. stannous chloride or sodium hypochlorite), the solvent used for the bleaching agent is a mixture of water and an organic liquid which does not swell starch granules. Organic liquids specified are methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, n-butyl, and diacetone alcohols; methyl and ethyl acetate and ethyl lactate ethylene, diethylene, and propylene glycols; ethylene glycol monomethyl and monoethyl ethers and diethylene glycol monoethyl ether ; ethylene glycol monoacetate and monomethyl ether acetate ; dioxane ; acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, and acetonyl acetone ; and ethylene and propylene chlorhydrins. The correcting fluid should contain'between 20 and 30 per cent of water. A correcting solution specified comprises stannous chloride, hydrochloric acid, water, and methyl alcohol. The correcting solution avoids the production of opacity in the correction of diazotype images on tracing cloth containing dressing.

To obtain full contact, the developed negative may be treated by a known etching process. In an example, a bookprinting composition is sprayed with thin black pyroxylin, the printing parts are cleared and rolled with a good white paint. The prepared composition is either (1) photographed on to a film, through the support, the film being developed with pyrocatechin without sulphite and etched with warm water followed by further development or treatment with sodium sulphide; or (2) photographed on to bromide paper which is developed with a non-hardening developer, bleached with acidified peroxide of hydrogen solution, re-exposed and re-developed.

Type-bar making machines; matrices; spacers. -The matrix-setting and single-type casting machine described in Specification 7924/09 is provided with special matrices and spacers for use in casting type-bars or logotypes. These matrices and spacers are formed without the projection - carrying addenda and clearancenotches of the original matrices and spacers, but are of the same peripheral outline so as to be capable of circulating through the machine on the existing guide-rails u<1>, u<2>, u<3>, &c. The matrices and spacers for casting type-bars are of the following character. The matrices, Fig. 1, have the strike 1 formed in a depression 2 instead of on a prominence. The distensible spacers, Fig. 7, consist of a wedge 26 mounted by dovetails to slide on a support 24 which is provided with limiting-pins 30. The non-distensible spacers are of the same form as the matrices but have a plane face to engage the mould. The matrices for casting logotypes have the strike formed on a prominence and are used in conjunction with the original spacers. In converting the machine from the original purpose a magazine containing the special matrices and spacers is substituted and the mould-jaws are replaced by shorter jaws 113, 114; further, the addendum-counting mechanism is thrown out, and the mould end-jaws are disconnected from the justifying-gear.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An information processing apparatus includes an image processing section for processing image and character information, a word processing section for processing character information, and a display section for displaying both the image and character information. The word processing section may be of a conventional type. The image processing section includes an image sensor which detects an image recorded on a document and produces an image signal in response thereto, a RAM for storing the image signal, a central processing unit for editing the image signal stored in RAM so as to erase, transfer, or reduce the size of at least a portion of the corresponding image and for storing the edited image signal in the RAM, and a printer for printing out the contents of the RAM. The display section includes a CRT for displaying both the character information generated by the word processing section and the image information detected by the image processing section. A bus control device connects the word processing section to the image processing section so that character information edited with the use of the CRT can be stored along with edited image information in the RAM, whereby the printer is adapted to print out both the edited character and image information stored in the RAM.

A masking film comprises a light-shielding peelable layer which is provided on a transparent support and comprises a polymer binder comprising a vinyl chloride resin, a rubberlike resin and a thermoplastic resin having OH groups and being compatible with the rubberlike resin and the vinyl chloride resin, wherein the polymer binder comprises a mixed nitrile rubber of a nitrile rubber having an acrylonitrile content of about 33% by weight and a Mooney viscosity of about 50 to 90 and another nitrile rubber either having an acrylonitrile content of about 28 to 32% by weight and a Mooney viscosity of about 35 to 70 or having an acrylonitrile content of about 33% by weight and a Mooney viscosity of about 35 to 50. The masking film simultaneously exhibits appropriate flexibility, good pick-up property, peelability and anti-blocking property of the light-shielding peelable layer and is stable against degradation of these properties with time.

The aim of the invention is to improve the quality and durability of the photomask. A first masking layer is applied to the glass plate with the pattern of the topology of the functional electronics device formed in it. In order to eliminate the puncture-type defect, the second applied layer of photosensitive negative material is selectively exposed in the areas of defects and along the contour of the frame by the generated radiation. In this case, over the defects, areas that are opaque to actinic radiation are created in the form of local masking coatings. [Class 100 (iii).] Cleaning matrices.-In apparatus for cleaning matrices by means of rotary brushes supplied with benzine &c., the matrices are fed past the brushes by parallel feedscrews, are reversed during their travel, and are then led between travelling drying- bands to an assembler. The matrices are contained in a magazine 6, Fig. 5, having a vertical ribbed guide-member 7 to fit the V-shaped notches, and are ejected one by one by a pawl 12 operated by a reciprocating slide 14. The pawl is pivoted to the slide, and is guided by surfaces 17, so as to engage only the lowest matrix. A detent 8 holds back the upper matrices. The matrices are ejected on to a guideway 39, on which they are held down by a pivoted member 29. The matrices are fed along the guideway by a pair of screws 31, which engage their ears, and their faces are cleaned by rotary brushes 47, 48. The matrices are reversed during their travel by a pivoted hookmember 44, which engages their leading ends. The edges of the matrices are cleaned by rotary brushes as they descend in the magazine. The matrices are dried by endless bands 55, 56, Fig. 7, to which they are delivered by a shoot 45, the bands being driven at different speeds, to give a rubbing action. The bands are pressed against a supporting surface 57 by a spring-pressed plate 58, which may have an electric heating-element. The cleaned matrices are delivered into an assembler 65, which has a number of compartments, and is supported on inclined rails 72. The matrices are pushed into the compartment in use by a star-wheel 64, and are supported by a sliding follower 67, which, when the compartment is full, trips a catch 69 and causes the assembler to descend a step.

A space band for a type-bar-making machine comprises the usual short wedge 22 and a long wedge consisting of two wedge members 30, 32 of different angles of taper connected at their thicker ends 34, the angles of taper of the three parts 22, 30, 32 being such that the outer surfaces of the parts 30, 32 are parallel over that part of their length occupied by the short wedge. A guide 26 on the wedge 22 slidably engages a guideway 28 in the members 30. The member 32 may have a shallow longitudinal groove 40, and has a forked extension 44, Figs. 2, 7 (not shown), which is tapered to prevent it biting into a matrix during justification. A pin 30A near the joined ends of the members 30, 32 limits the upward movement of the members. The casting edges of the space band, vice jaws and matrices are respectively 0.025 mm., 0.06 mm. and 0.025 mm. thicker than the other edges.

The bores 2, 3 are either all drilled and then filled with the soft metal or the bores in one direction first drilled and filled and then those at right angles drilled and filled; the heat of the second filling bonding it to the first filling. The bore in one direction may be of smaller diameter than those in the other direction. If the board comprises a number of pieces 1 the adjacent pieces are arranged with the grain at right angles to one another and the pieces held together by interlocking or adhesive.

A method and apparatus for organizing and preparing photogenerated printing media for multi-page printing including a method and the apparatus for carrying out the method in which the sequence in which the proof pages of the pages to be printed are to be sorted and arranged, are recorded on a film strip and the film strip is transorted through a viewer. The film strip is viewed through a viewer and the pages are sorted and arranged. The sorted and arranged papers are then affixed to segments of a conveyer sheet advanced through a paste-up machine. The sheet, after the proof pages have been affixed thereto is transported across a copy board and the images of the copy to be printed and which appear on the proof pages affixed to the conveyer sheet are photographically reproduced on a strip of roll film advanced through a camera. The film is then processed and the processed film is used to photosensitize printing plates.

An attachment is provided for taking impressions from the slug while it is still in the mould. The attachment is particularly applicable to machines in which the mould-wheel is provided with diametrically-opposite moulds and makes the complete rotation in four successive quarter-turns, advancing and receding after each quarter-turn. The impression is made in the advance movement after the first quarter-turn, upon a paper web fed over a resilient platen. Inking is effected either by means of an ink ribbon or by an inking-roller. The advance movement of the mould-wheel also effects the feed of the paper web, and, if provided, the ink ribbon; in the case of an inking- roller, the slug is inked during the rotation of the mould-wheel. Figs. 2 and 3 show an attachment provided with an ink ribbon. The various parts are secured to the vice frame 13 by brackets 11, 16, 24. A reel of paper 5<a> is mounted on a vertical spindle 7 carried by the bracket 11, and is supported at its lower end by a plate 37 adjustable on the spindle 7 for different widths of web; the plate 37 extends rearwards and supports the web. The web passes over a guide-roller 14 carried by the bracket 16, and over a curved guide 18 to a platen 4 contained in a trough 18<a>, which is preferably integral with the guide 18 and is secured to a plate 21. The platen may consist of vulcanized fibre or similar material backed by an india-rubber pad 19 for resiliency. The. trough 18<a> is adjustable fore and aft on the plate 21, for which purpose set-screws 27 are provided on the plate 21, and the trough is secured to the plate 21 by means of screws 20 passing through slotted lugs 26. The plate 21 is secured to flanges 22, 23 on the brackets 11, 24 so that a space is left between it and the vice frame for the passage of the web from the platen to feed-rollers 29, 30 ...

The platemaking system is a system that produces a printing plate by using an exposure device 8 to print on original film that has imposition data consisting of multiple page data imposed on photosensitive film. The system is equipped with page data layout device 2 and exposure device 8. Page data layout device 2 indicates page layout data that contains positioning information and size information of each page data for the purpose of impositioning multiple page data on photosensitive film. Based on that page layout data, each page data is laid out at the imposition position of the photosensitive film, imposition data is created and the indicated page layout data is output to exposure device 8. Exposure device 8 receives the page layout data via network line NL and moves the original film to the corresponding position in accordance with the received page layout data after which the exposure process is carried out. The device is equipped with keyboard 14 to indicate page layout data for the purpose of impositioning multiple page data on original film. Page data layout device 2 lays out corresponding page data in response to page layout data when the page data corresponding to the page number specified by page layout data is prepared and then creates imposition data. Further, when the page data is not prepared, page data layout device 2 lays out dummy page data in response to page layout data in place of page data and then creates imposition data.
