The printing frame (1) esp. for cheques has printing heads (15) each having a series of number wheels and additionally a wheel for printing a check number so that the correctness of the serial number can be confirmed. The check number is calculated by a computer. The computer is connected to stepping motors (2) mounted on the frame and connected to the printing heads by racks (13) which act on the check number wheels to set them to the digits determined by the computer. The motor 14 is connected synchronously with the main driving motor which reciprocates the bed 1. The piston 2 which operates in the cylinder 4 is connected to the base of the bed by a rod 3.

In a printing press having a transfer cylinder for transferring a freshly printed substrate, an anti-marking device is provided. The anti-marking device comprises a flexible jacket comprised of fluoropolymer to engage the freshly printed substrate as it is transferred over the transfer cylinder, the anti-marking device removably attached with free play to the transfer cylinder. In an embodiment, a base cover is installed on the transfer cylinder between the anti-marking device and the transfer cylinder. 1. A method of maintaining a printing press having a transfer cylinder , comprising:removing a flexible jacket from the transfer cylinder, wherein the flexible jacket is comprised of fluoropolymer;immersing the flexible jacket in a solvent to clean;attaching the flexible jacket to the transfer cylinder by a first edge of the flexible jacket;adjusting the free play of the flexible jacket; andattaching the flexible jacket to the transfer cylinder by a second edge of the flexible jacket.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the fluoropolymer is at least one of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) claim 1 , fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) claim 1 , and perfluoroalkoxy (PFA).3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the fluoropolymer is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).4. The method of claim 1 , further including:rinsing the flexible jacket after immersing; anddrying the flexible jacket in a clothes dryer.5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the flexible jacket is woven from threads comprising fluoropolymer.6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the flexible jacket is woven from threads consisting essentially of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the flexible jacket is woven from threads comprised of about 99 percent polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and about 1 percent polyester and carbon.8. A printing unit cylinder and a sleeve for a printing unit cylinder is disclosed. The printing unit cylinder has an axial end section on the operator's side and a lateral surface having a plurality of openings through which compressed air can be passed so that a sleeve thereby widened can be pulled onto the lateral surface and pulled off of it over the axial end section. A noise reduction structure is provided on the axial end section for reducing the noises generated by compressed air emerging between the sleeve and the lateral surface. In a printing press and attached onto the transfer cylinders, an anti-marking system that uniformly supports the transport and the release of the wet printed sheet from one station to the next. The anti-marking sheet consists of a two plus layer system, the outer layer being a textured surface and the inner layer being a microcellular material that is both compressible and resilient. The outer textured layer may be treated with either conductive/anti-static layers or an ink repellent layer or both. The two plus layer system is easily attached to both transfer cylinders and tracking/skeleton wheels using any combination of fixtures from Velcro™, magnetic, metallic, and pressure sensitive double sided tape to elastic loops. 1. A novel multilayer flexible metamaterial that can work at near infrared (NIR) regime that can be fabricated on transparent PET substrate using flip chip transfer (FCT) technique. An embodiment of the present invention also provides novel NIR metamaterial device that can be transformed into various shapes by bending the PET substrate, wherein said metamaterial device is tunable via physical manipulation of its flexible substrate with no requirement to change the material composition of the substrate. The flexibility allows the novel NIR metamaterial device to bend and stretch, which can alter the device structure. Since the resonant frequency of each device is a function of the device structure, the resonant frequency can be tuned by the bend and stretch of the substrate. Another embodiment of the present invention further provides novel tunable sensors and emitters using such flexible metamaterials and devices. 1.
