Brake pads produce braking pressure acting in opposing directions, and are demountable without having to take off the brake housing. The housing is fitted with a number of extrusions meshing with corresponding splines, on the outer circumference of the hub. On the surface opposite the friction surface of the brake disc, ribs are provide. During rotation these act as ventilating vanes for removing heat generated during braking. The seating of the housing on the hub by extrusions resting in splines serves to restrict the flow of heat to the hub and the bearings.

The difference in wheel speeds is monitored during retarder action and when the difference in wheel speed exceeds a programmed value the differential action of the differential is progressively blocked. Die Erfindung soll im folgenden anhand der Zeichnungenunderläutert werden .Um eine Bremswirkung des fahrenden Kraftfahrzeugs zu bewirken, müssen die Bremsklötze (BK)an die rotierende Bremsscheibe (BS) angepresst werden .Zwischen den angepressten Bremsklötzen(BK) und der rotierenden Bremsscheibe (BS) entsteht ein Abrieb (Bremsfeinstaub) der im Radkasten durch den Fahrtwind verwirbelt wird und in die Atmosphäre gelangt .Die aerodynamische Ausbildung der Radfelgen- bzw. Radblenden-Durchbrüche (FBD) bewirkt beim Rotieren des Rades (R) eine Sogwirkung (S) derart, dass die mit Bremsfeinstaub - Partikeln belastete Luft aus dem Radkasten abgesaugt und durch den Filter (F) gepresst wird. Die Partikel werden vom Filter (F) absorbiert, die gereinigte Luft geht in die Atmosphäre .Die Erfindung mindert somit die Anzahl der Bremsfeinstaub-Partikel in der Atmosphäre und damit ist die eingeatmete Luft weniger mit gesundheitsschädlichem Bremsfeinstaub belastet.

Um einen absoluten Druckausgleich gegenüber der Umgebung zu schaffen, ist der Vorratsbehälter (1) erfindungsgemäß zusätzlich über einen verschließbaren Kanal (4a, b, 10, 11, 12), mit der Umgebungsluft (3) verbunden. So ist sichergestellt, dass im Nicht-Bremsbetrieb kein Arbeitsmedium über den Steigkanal in den Arbeitsraum gelangt.

A parking brake apparatus for a vehicle , comprising:a motor section configured to generate power;a power transmission section configured to rotate by driving of the motor section;a pair of pressing units configured to receive power from the power transmission section, and press a brake pad;a load transmission unit installed between the pair of pressing units, connected to each of the pair of pressing units, and configured to transmit a pressing load of any one of the pair of pressing units to the other pressing unit; anda transmission gear section restraint unit configured to selectively restrain driving of the load transmission unit in conjunction with rotation of the power transmission section.2. An electric brake actuator including a retracting torque applying mechanism that applies a retracting torque to a rotational shaft and including: a torsion spring; a stator including a first retaining portion retaining one end portion of the torsion spring; a rotor including a second retaining portion retaining the other end portion of the torsion spring and configured to be rotated relative to the stator so as to twist the torsion spring; and a clutch mechanism configured to selectively establish a clutch ON state and a clutch OFF state, wherein a first retaining portion prohibits the one end portion from being displaced in a forward rotational direction and includes a biasing member that biases the one end portion in the forward rotational direction, the first retaining portion being configured to allow the one end portion to be displaced in a reverse rotational direction against a biasing force of the biasing member. 1. A method of controlling deceleration of a vehicle which includes the steps of sensing the speed of rotation of the output shaft and generating an output shaft speed signal. The method also includes deriving from the output shaft speed signal a deceleration signal indicative of deceleration of the vehicle, and generating in accordance with a selectively effective feedback control scheme a braking command. A clutch pack is positioned between the pressure plate and the piston, and includes two sets of clutch plates radially surrounding the shaft. The first set of clutch plates is connected to the shaft in a manner effective to cause those clutch plates to rotate about the axis of the shaft when the shaft rotates. The second set of clutch plates is prevented from rotating about the axis of the shaft. Members of the first set of clutch plates are interspersed between members of the second set of clutch plates, so that when the clutch pack is sufficiently compressed by axial forces applied by the piston and the pressure plate, the first set of clutch plates is forced against the second set of clutch plates so that friction forces between members of the first set of clutch plates and members of the second set of clutch plates slow and may subsequently stop the rotation of the shaft. 1.
