Looms, warp-damping in.-Apparatus, such as is described in Specification No. 11,000, A.D. 1905, for moistening the warp threads in looms, comprises a trough 1, which has an opening 2 at one side, and is provided with a cover 3 to prevent dust, dirt, or any article from falling into the trough. The cover has a beaded edge 4, and the opening 2 is covered by a removable screen of fabric or fine perforated gauze 5. When the apparatus is used in combination with a loom, the trough is secured to brackets bolted to the end frame or to the back of the loom, and the revolving brush 8 in the trough is driven by a pulley and cord from the tappet shaft. The water in the trough is driven through the screen 5, which acts as a rose. The apparatus may be used for disinfecting or fumigating purposes ; in this case, a disinfectant is added to the water, the trough is fixed to a stand or to the wall, and the brush is driven from any convenient source of power. A series of troughs may be kept supplied with water from a common supply.
