Process for the raw manufacture of an article containing a microfiber nonwoven, the untreated microfiber nonwoven being pretreated with an aqueous solution containing dyeing aids and without dye at a temperature between 100 ° C. and 140 ° C. After washing the untreated fabric and manufacturing the article, it is subjected to a coloring step at a temperature between 100 ° C. and 140 ° C., and the unfixed color is then removed by means of at least one rinsing step. This process leads to articles that have the aesthetic properties and “grip” of typical microfiber nonwovens and at the same time have high color fastness to dry cleaning or wet cleaning and are resistant to extensive exposure to sun and / or sweat.

Process for Producing Yarns with Varying Properties

1,181,277. Yarns. SOC. RHODIACETA. 27 June, 1967 [28 June, 1966], No. 29530/67. Headings D1F; D1L and D1W. A process for producing a yarn having at least one property varying along its length comprises continuously folding a yarn on itself in the form of a stack of elongated shape and essentially uniform cross-section, subjecting the yarn to a continuous treatmentfor example a heat, swelling, dyeing or dyeresist treatment - which is heterogeneous in relation to the cross-section of the stack so that the yarn produced has in its linear form at least one property - for example colour, shade, or gauge - varying along its length. The treatment may be applied to one side of the stack or to the surface rather than the core. The stack may be formed in a permeable or non-permeable cylinder of a good or bad heat conductor, the yarn being fed into the cylinder by a pair of rolls or by a jet of saturated steam which escapes laterally from the cylinder. The stack may be treated in the cylinder or after leaving the cylinder, and may then be dismantled to recover the yarn or be collected in a receptacle. The yarn may be a mono- or multi-filament or staple fibre yarn of cellulose acetate or triacetate, polyamide, polyester, polyolefin, polyacrylic, polyvinyl, wool, cotton or silk. In particular examples, three or four different dyes are fed to equidistant points around the periphery of the cylinder, or the stack after leaving the cylinder is deposited (optionally with a lateral traverse) on a conveyor belt and is subjected to infra-red radiation to alter the dye receptivity of the yarn in the surface of the stack with respect to the yarn in the core. The yarn receives a crimp in the container which is removed in the case of undrawn yarn by subsequent drawing.
