Inclined mesh panel type filtering apparatus

Номер: US20140042078A1
Автор: Doo Yun Hwang
Принадлежит: Blue Whale Screen Co Ltd

An inclined mesh panel type filtering apparatus capable of easily removing suspended solids from water. In a conventional apparatus, a filtration fabric is contaminated from use even when it is cleaned by a brush unit or a cleaning unit, and is almost clogged, in the course of one to two years after being put into operation, to such an extent that scale is not even removed even by additional manual cleaning. Thus, the entire apparatus should be disassembled to replace the filtration fabric with a new one or exchange an entire filter drum. This problem is resolved by the inclined mesh panel type filtering apparatus that can be continuously operated for a long time in which a filtration panel formed with fine openings having a typical size of 0.2 to 1.2 mm is not clogged and does not require high-pressure cleaning-water or air showers that consume high energy.

A device for concentrating an object to be treated has a filter body in which a movable plate is disposed between adjacent annular fixed plates, the moveable plate being formed in the same annular shape. Sludge filtrate passes through filtrate inflow gaps between the fixed plates and the movable plate before being caused to flow into the filter body. The movable plate is moved so that solids in the sludge are kept from clogging the filtrate inflow gaps. A cleaning member is caused to rub against the outer peripheral surfaces of the fixed plates so that solids adhering to the outer peripheral surfaces of the fixed plates are scraped off. The movable plates of said device are caused to perform a circular movement by eccentric cams fixed to the shaft. The cleaning member is fixed to the shaft, and caused to rotate around the shaft by the rotation of the shaft so that solids adhering to the outer peripheral surfaces of the fixed plates are scraped off. 18-. Принадлежит: HAGIHARA TADASHI JA

Many rows of rigid links are hinged together as an endless chain which is partly immersed in a current of liquid flowing through an open-topped channel. The rising side of the chain faces the current and collects solids which it carries up clear of the liquid surface. Each link fits on two successive hinge pins and is extended beyond its trailing pin, the extension being cranked at the end outwards from the chain; as each link passes around a sprocket near the bottom of the channel, its extension rises from the flat screen formation for the cranked end to sweep up solids from the bottom; in passing around a top sprocket, each link extension again rises temporarily to discharge collected deposits. The filter is esp. suitable for filtering polluted liq. effluents from factories etc., and water passing along artificial canals.

Methods and apparatus for acoustic fiber fractionation

Номер: US5803270A
Автор: Pierre Brodeur

Methods and apparatus for acoustic fiber fractionation using a plane ultrasonic wave field interacting with water suspended fibers circulating in a channel flow using acoustic radiation forces to separate fibers into two or more fractions based on fiber radius, with applications of the separation concept in the pulp and paper industry. The continuous process relies on the use of a wall-mounted, rectangular cross-section piezoelectric ceramic transducer to selectively deflect flowing fibers as they penetrate the ultrasonic field. The described embodiment uses a transducer frequency of approximately 150 kHz. Depending upon the amount of dissolved gas in water, separation is obtained using a standing or a traveling wave field.

Batch-type filter operating under pressure

Номер: SU1181521A3

Periodically operating pressure filter for the concentration of a solid matter suspension, comprising a filtering tank with an input conduit for introducing the suspension to be filtered under pressure, and a drain conduit for removal of the concentrated sludge, and a number of filtering elements suspended from the ceiling, through which the filtrate flows and which are internally in communication with a filtrate collecting tank located above and which thereby collect sludge on their outer surface. The sludge has been arranged to be periodically detached by making the pressure inside the filtering element higher than on its outside. The filtrate is under atmospheric pressure in the collecting tank. For detaching the sludge periodically from the outer surfaces on the filtering elements the pressure has been arranged to be removable from the filtering tank by opening for the suspension residing there, an exit flow, whereby the filtrate in the collecting tank will pass under hydrostatic pressure effect in counter-current fashion through the filtering elements.

Other cross-sections, including circular (Fig. 3b not shown) are possible. In Fig. 5a the supporting means comprises two endless belts, which may be grooved or mesh-like (Figs. 8a-8d not shown). In Fig. 6 (not shown) the belts are replaced by rows of rollers. In the pressing zone(s) (Figs. 9, 10 not shown) the filter cloth tube and contents pass between further endless belts, converging in the direction of travel and backed by rollers which are urged together by respective pairs of rams (22). Filtrates from the filtering and pressing zones are separately collected. The endless belts could be common to filtering and pressing zones (Fig. 4 not shown). Modular construction however allows any required number of pressing zones to be added to the apparatus. At the cleaning zone (Fig. 12) the cloth band 10 is opened up and solids removed by upper plate 60 with a peripheral rubber or plastics scraper (Fig. 13, not shown), and the cloth is cleaned by water sprays 29 and/or rotary brushes and/or compressed air nozzles. Lower plate 60 collects the wash water. Upper plate 60 is pivoted, adjustable towards the cloth and may be vibrated to assist solids removal.
