Принадлежит: Lau Sai Kai

Disclosed is a method for preparing knife-free linearly-tearable stone paper, which includes the following steps: 101) producing raw stone paper; 102) longitudinally stretching the raw paper obtained in step 101 in one direction, wherein a stretching rate for the raw paper is 2-7 times. The density of the stone paper manufactured according to the present invention becomes lower after the stretching, and a track of stone powder is arranged in a line to change isotropy into anisotropy. The direction in which the track of the stone powder is arranged presents a smooth tearing direction. When the paper is torn manually, a smooth straight edge can be obtained as long as the tearing direction is the same as the direction of the track of the stone powder.

Soft, absorbent paper webs and processes for making them. In the process, an aqueous dispersion of the papermaking fibers is formed into an embryonic web on a first foraminous member such as a Fourdinier wire. This embryonic web is associated with a second foraminous member known as a deflection member. The surface of the deflection member with which the embryonic web is associated has a macroscopic monoplanar, continuous, patterned network surface which defines within the deflection member a plurality of discrete, isolated deflection conduits. The papermaking fibers in the web are deflected into the deflection conduits and water is removed through the deflection conduits to form an intermediate web. Deflection begins no later than the time water removal through the deflection member begins. The intermediate web is dried and foreshortened as by creping. The paper web has a distinct continuous network region and a plurality of domes dispersed throughout the whole of the network region.

Method of creping tissue webs containing a softener using a closed creping pocket

Номер: US5730839A
Принадлежит: Kimberly Clark Worldwide Inc

The invention consists of soft, bulky tissue products that result from the presence of a debonder/softening agent in the outer layers of the tissue and creping under "closed" pocket conditions. The debonder/softening agents belong to a group of organic chemicals that include several imidazolinium quaternary compounds. These chemicals do not adversely interfere with adhesion, unlike most debonders, to the drying surface of the tissue machine. They can, therefore, be placed in the outer layers of the tissue that contact the dryer surface and improve creping. The tissue can then be creped off of the drying surface using a closed pocket, that is a pocket angle of less than 80 degrees. The closed pocket creping normally produces a thicker, less dense tissue but with coarse crepe. Closed pocket creping and the presence of most debonders in the dryer side layers would be expected to also produce coarse crepe structures. However, the interaction of debonder adhesive properties and the closed pocket creping conditions produces a bulky tissue with sufficiently fine crepe structure that results in high overall softness.

A process for increasing the tactile properties of a base web without adversely effecting the strength of the web is disclosed. In one embodiment, the process includes the steps of placing a base web between a first moving conveyor (60) and a second moving conveyor (62). The conveyors are then wrapped around a shear-inducing roll (64) which creates shear forces that act upon the base web. The shear forces disrupt the web, increasing the softness and decreasing the stiffness of the web. The shear-inducing roll (64) typically has a relatively small diameter. In some applications, more than one shear-inducing roll may be incorporated into the system. Base webs made according to the present invention have been found to have improved void-volume and fuzz-on-edge properties.

The extensible slit sheet paper product is manufactured to have an expandable slit pattern that forms open cells upon expansion of the paper product. The paper product is an extensible paper having an extensibility in the range of 1-9% in the machine direction and 1-5% in the cross direction. Expansion creates an array of hexagonal cells. The expanded extensible paper may be used to wrap an object for transport by wrapping or cushioning the object with an expanded slit sheet material. The extensible, expandable slit sheet paper can be wrapped around itself to make a space-filling product.

Method and system for producing wet-pressed, molded tissue products

Номер: CA2586764A1

A process for producing tissue webs is disclosed. The process may include the step of partially dewatering a tissue web, subjecting the web to at least one deflection against a fabric, such as a coarse fabric, and then creping the web. During the process, after being dewatered, the tissue web is transferred from a transfer conveyor to the fabric using a pneumatic force, such as a suction force. In order to prevent liquids from rewetting the tissue web as the tissue web is being transferred to the fabric, the transfer conveyor is made from a material that inhibits or prevents liquids from flowing into the tissue web. For instance, in one embodiment, the transfer conveyor may comprise a felt comprised of small capillary materials. The felt may have an intake rate, for instance, of less than about 150 ~L/s when wet, may have a mean free pore size of less than about 20 microns, and may have a minimum pore size of less than about 5 microns.
