A lug w on the arm e limits the opening of the door. An adjustable valve r in the check cylinder controls an air-escape aperture, by which the strength of the check can be varied. By completely closing the aperture, the door may be held in a slightly-open position until natural leakage allows it to close.

The tube has a weight displaced therein with a cable attached at the top which passes out of the top of the tube across a pulley and is connected to the door or window jamb. A pneumatic seal is provided between the weight and the inside wall of the tube and works in conjunction with a port and valve at the bottom of the tube for controlling the flow of air passing therethrough. When the door or window is opened, the weight rises in the tube. The female leaf has spaced apart first and second end barrels coaxially rotating with respect to a central barrel of the male leaf therebetween. An axial shaft is fixed to the second end barrel of the female leaf at a proximal end of the axial shaft. The axial shaft has a distal helicoidally threaded spindle. A cushioning system for a pneumatic cylinder powered differential engine door opening and closing device for use in passenger transportation vehicles wherein the cushioning initiation point can be adjusted. This cushioning initiation point is adjusted through the use of a linearly adjustable slider member within the large cylinder. The slider is linearly adjustable through the use of an adjustment screw located outside of the pneumatic cylinder and allows one to adjust the time and the mode of the opening/closing of power doors, without disassembly of the cylinder, and significantly improve the safety of the passenger.

An automatic door or window closing device which includes a tube attached to the edge of a movable door or window. The tube has a weight displaced therein with a cable attached at the top which passes out of the top of the tube across a pulley and is connected to the door or window jamb. A pneumatic seal is provided between the weight and the inside wall of the tube and works in conjunction with a port and valve at the bottom of the tube for controlling the flow of air passing therethrough. When the door or window is opened, the weight rises in the tube. When the door or window is released, the weight drops in the tube according to the adjustment of the port and valve at the bottom of the tube, until the door or window is completely closed.

A door-closer has an air cylinder in which a piston rod and a piston body are provided to define first and second sealed chambers. The piston body is sleeved movably on the piston rod and has a tapered bore which is communicated with the second chamber. A closable passage is formed through the piston and communicated with the first and second chambers. A spring-biased seal is disposed in the second chamber and biased to close the closable passage. A regulatable passage is formed through the piston body and communicated with the tapered bore and the first chamber. The piston rod has a shoulder which is movable axially within the tapered bore by rotating the cylinder relative to the piston rod for regulating the air flow between the first and second chambers through the regulatable passage. The spring-biased seal is movable to open the closable passage when the piston body moves in response to the opening of the door. When the door is opened, compressed air flows from the first chamber to the second chamber through the regulatable passage and the closable passage. When the opened door is released, compressed air flows from the second chamber to the first chamber through the regulatable passage.
