An exemplary door closer includes a housing defining a hydraulic chamber having a hydraulic fluid disposed therein. A pinion is rotatably mounted to the housing and extends into the hydraulic chamber. A piston is mounted for reciprocal movement within the housing, and defines a rack engaged with the pinion. The housing further defines an aperture in fluid communication with the hydraulic chamber. A regulating screw is rotatably mounted within the aperture such that rotation of the regulating screw in a first direction advances the regulating screw into the hydraulic chamber and such that rotation of the regulating screw in an opposite second direction withdraws the regulating screw away from the hydraulic chamber. Disclosed is a door closer that can easily adjust the spring force of a return spring. A piston 2 moves toward a first oil chamber 15 upon a door opening operation and moves toward a second oil chamber 16 upon a door closing operation. A return spring 50 is located on the same line as the piston 2 . The return spring 50 is interposed between a spring retaining seat on a fixed side close to a main shaft 3 and a spring retaining seat on a moving side distant from the main shaft 3 . A door closer or operator includes a pivoting pinion on the door closer housing for transmitting door motion, and a cam connected thereto. A connecting member extends along a spring and engages the peripheral edge of the cam. Rotation of the cam causes a change in length of the portion of the connecting member between the position tangent to the cam peripheral edge and the spring second end to expand or compress the spring, resulting in a force transmitted along a longitudinal axis of the connecting member as a result of spring deflection. The cam peripheral edge has a profile with a varying radial distance between the cam axis and the connecting member at the position tangent to the cam peripheral edge such that the radial distance is changed as the spring expands or compresses to maintain a desired constant torque about the axis of the cam and pinion.

As shown, the slide 21 comprises two parallel plate members having longitudinal slots 23, the upper of which engages the rotatable collar 24 of an actuating shaft 16 and between which the rollers (22) operated on by a heartshaped cam 20 also carried by shaft 16. The slide 21 is connected to a rod 30 surrounded by a spring 33 and having at its free end a piston 32. L'invention est relative à un ferme-porte automatique comportant un dispositif d'étranglement, un clapet de retenue et un clapet anti-retour entre la chambre de pression et la chambre sans pression. The invention relates to an automatic door closer comprising a throttling device, a check valve and a non-return valve between the pressure chamber and the pressure-free chamber. According to the invention, the check valve is held in its closed position with the aid of an elastic element, the retaining force of which can be overcome by a movement of the shaft of the door closer. The door closer is attractive and ensures automatic closing of the door regardless of its opening angle.

The door compact closing mechanism has a damper and frame held on door panel or on fixed frame. The door closure has fluid containing cylinder divided into two chambers by a piston. Chambers are connected by holes in the piston. One end of piston is connected to the door or door frame. The piston resistance is reduced on opening the door and increased on closing. The free end of piston rod (17) is connected with the actuating rod (20) by means of lever mechanisms (19, 25, 26). Slots are provided in the closing mechanism frame for movement of these levers.

1515217 Door closers VEREINIGTE BAUBESCHLAGFABRIKEN GRETSCH & CO GmbH 19 July 1976 [7 Aug 1975] 29919/76 Heading E2M A door closer includes a spindle 2 protruding from a housing 1, a closer spring 7 and, laterally beside the spring 7, a piston 9 and cylinder 6 of a damper 8, the spindle 2 carrying two cam discs 3, 4 which act respectively on the spring 7 and damper 8 on rotation of the spindle 2, in each case through a rocker arm 13, 25. Each rocker arm 13, 25 abuts through a roller 17, 28 on the cam disc 3, 4 and through another roller 12, 29 on the spring 7 or damper 8, the rocker arms 13, 25 being mounted approximately opposite to one another at 14, 26 in the housing 1. The longitudinal axes 19, 31 of the spring 7 and damper 8 remain fixed relative to the housing 1. Preferably as shown, the spring 7 is arranged parallel to but higher than the damper 8 in the housing 1. The spring 7 is guided in a cylinder 5 and surrounds and abuts against a bolt 11 which carries the roller 12. The run-off face 18 of the arm 13 is so curved that its tangential surface at its contact with the roller 12 is always perpendicular to the axis 19. The roller 29 is mounted in a recess 35 of the rocker arm 25 and abuts on a run-off face 30 provided on an extension of the piston 9. The stress in the spring 7 is adjusted by means of a screw 22 seated eccentrically in a disc 20 which has a collar 21 bearing on the end of the spring 7 remote from the bolt 11. The disc 20 has a recess 24 into which fits a circlip 23 on the screw 22 at maximum spring stress.
