This invention relates to a shaft device of a rocking piston type pump which prevents mixing of lubricating oils and prevents pumping fluids from flowing out of the pump. The axial shaft is blocked by a separate cover cylinder around the eccentric shaft. By preventing the mixing of the lubricating oil and the pumping fluid required to prevent damage of the various parts such as bearings and packing also has the effect of maximizing the life of the pump.

A test for operation over an extended period was performed on a high-power swing pump in which an independent seal device was employed, and a swing vane pump of a high-efficiency, pendulum-type wave power generating system was applied to use a swing vane-type pump actuator at a high pressure of 25MPa, as opposed to conventional, commercially available actuators. Test results showed that abrasive wear occurs by fretting corrosion at high-strength joint surfaces of hydraulic components in which a high-strength direction and a low-strength direction oppose each other. A need exists to quickly overcome abnormal wear and put a high efficiency wave power generating system into practical use. When a cylinder, the strength of which is low in the radiation direction with respect to a center shaft, and a side cover, the strength of which is high in the radiation direction, are coupled together to form joint surfaces therebetween, a cylindrical portion, which protrudes toward the cylinder, is arranged at the cylinder cover, such that the same distortion occurs to the side cover as that of the cross-section of the cylinder, which is distorted to a nearly elliptical shape by high-pressure working fluids. In addition, a pipeline, with which a low-pressure side working chamber is always in communication, is installed on the surface of a static vane fixed at the cylinder, wherein said surface of the static vane contacts the side cover.

The IC engine functions basically as a four-cylinder four-stroke machine. It comprises a casing with an upper and a lower half housing a shaft carrying profiled-faced discs. Two mirror-image discs are at the end, with one symmetrical disc arranged centrally. The end-disc act as induction and compression elements, the central one as a double power impulse and discharge element. Each of four sliders contains a transfer chamber with an inlet and a lever-operated outlet valve. The disc faces are profiled to move the sliders axially to permit communication with the appropriate chamber.

An axial motion controller pivotally interconnects two adjoining elements and controls the pivotal motion of a first of the two adjoining elements with respect to a second of the two adjoining elements. The axial motion controller comprises a housing having a wall which defines an axial cylindrical bore through the housing. The wall is adapted for attachment to a first of the two adjoining elements and the wall also has a longitudinal aperture therethrough which communicates with the bore. A hub assembly comprises a hub which is at least partially disposed within the cylindrical bore of the housing and is axially rotatable therein. The hub has a substantially central cylindrical core and at least one lobe extending radially from the core. At least one end cap is affixed to one end of the hub to retain the hub in a fixed, fluidically sealed, axial relationship within the housing. The hub and the housing together define at least one fluid retention cavity. The hub assembly is adapted for attachment to a second of the two adjoining elements. A removable wiper is positioned in the aperture and is sealingly affixed to the housing. The wiper extends radially inwardly from the housing wall within the fluid retention cavity and extends to the central cylindrical core thereby dividing the fluid retention cavity into a first minor cavity and a second minor cavity.

1482085 Extracting energy from waves UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH (COURT) 15 Nov 1974 [15 Nov 1973 6 May 1974] 53119/73 and 19763/74 Heading F1S Apparatus for extracting energy from waves comprises a member 2 mounted for oscillation about an axis O, the leeward side of the member 2, left hand side as seen in the drawing, having a semi-circular profile centred on axis O so that the water on this side is not disturbed as waves coming from the right cause the member 2 to oscillate about its axis. This design and the leeward side, coupled with the fact that the leading edge of member 2 is designed to permit the water at varying depths to follow its natural wave movement, ensures that practically all of the wave energy is extracted for conversion into electricity. For the latter purpose, permanent magnets mounted on an inner surface of member 2 may induce currents in coils mounted on a stationary support 1. Alternatively, as shown, the member 2 and support 1 may be shaped to form a spline pump which may be coupled to a turbine generator. A plurality of members 2 may be mounted on a common linear or arcuate support 1. Alternatively, the one long support may be replaced by a plurality of sections joined together by hinges 13, Fig. 5 (not shown).
