A damper coupling part 67 at one end of a damper 44 is coupled to either of a coupling shaft 33 or 34 for coupling an upper arm 31 or a lower arm 32 and a knuckle 35. As impact from a wheel is not applied to an intermediate part of an arm and no bending moment acts upon the arm, the arm is not required to be reinforced and can be lightened. Also, a damper attachment for attaching a damper to the arm is not required to be provided, the number of parts can be reduced and the manufacturing cost of the arm can be reduced.

A secondary pressure source is located within the casing and the tube and acts against the piston to urge the rod into the casing. Following integral vulcanized adhesion with the rubber elastic body, only the small diameter portion is diameter widened by press-fitting a diameter widening jig to impart pre-compression to the rubber elastic body. No roll-back deformation of a flanged portion occurs when integrally vulcanize adhering the cup piece to the rubber elastic body, and also when imparting pre-compression to the rubber elastic body by diameter widening a tubular portion of the cup piece.

When in an installed position, at least one of the rubber bushings is secured in three longitudinal degrees of freedom relative to the wheel support or the vehicle body, and a rotational degree of freedom of the one of the bushings about the axis of the fastener is blocked by a form-fitting arrangement. The form-fitting arrangement formed by engagement of a nose on the one of the bushings into a recess arranged in a rubber bearing receiving area of the wheel support and/or vehicle body. The rod cover has one of two ends coupled to a distal end side of the rod thereby to be reciprocable together with the rod. The opening side end of the rod cover is located on a side of the bottom side end of the cylinder relative to the opening side end of the cylinder when the piston is immersed in the operating liquid.
