The present invention and related disclosure describes greeting cards with moving elements or devices which are operable to create motion in connection with some portion of the greeting card. The greeting card may include a multi-panel greeting card body or a three-dimensional foam greeting card body. At least one movable object is contained upon or within the greeting card body. A sound module having at least one pre-recorded digital audio file saved therein and a motor module are contained and concealed within the greeting card body. One or more switches may be used to activate the sound and motor modules, causing the pre-recorded audio file to play and causing movement of the movable or mobile object. An interactive greeting card having a multi-panel greeting card body, a sound module and a molded track contained between two or more panels of the multi-panel greeting card body, and a moveable object which is attached to the molded track through an opening in one or more of the greeting card panels. The moveable object is operative to move from one end of the molded track to the opposite end of the molded track whereby playback of a pre-recorded digital audio file is initiated. The interactive greeting card may additionally contain a small motor which causes movement of a second moveable object and an object launcher which is operative to launch an object along the track and into the air. An interactive electronic greeting card with pop up feature includes a three-sided pocket or cavity which houses various electronic and mechanical components and a pop up element. In a first position, the pop up element is substantially contained within the greeting card pocket or cavity. When the push button is depressed, the pop up element is ejected or “pops up” out of the greeting card pocket or cavity, revealing a greeting or other printed indicia. The push button also initiates playback of a pre-loaded digital audio file, which may be a spoken message, a sound, a song, music or other such audio recording. A solution comprising cost-effective methods and techniques for adding a standard vending API to a traditional vending machine, to control and monitor the vending machine during normal operation, without changing the original Vending Machine Controller (VMC) board. A key aspect of this invention is the implementation of a standard vending API by means of a proprietary data communication protocol over a network connection between a consume media playback device and an extra microcontroller in the vending machine. The present invention provides interfacing methods and a communication protocol between a consumer media playback device, a microcontroller and a Vending Machine Controller. The microcontroller implements a hardware abstraction layer to hide the underlying vending hardware towards the consumer media playback device. The greeting card of the present invention is a traditional greeting card enhanced by audio and movement. The greeting card contains a pull trigger mechanism so that the user must interact with the greeting card to trigger the audio and motor movement. The pull trigger mechanism may be made of a variety of different materials and are intended to resemble the tail of various animals. Once the pull mechanism or tail has been pulled, the motor is activated causing movement of a portion of the greeting card proximate to the pull mechanism or tail which resembles the behind of an animal. The moveable portion of the greeting card moves, by for example back and forth, while audio plays in the background.

A greeting card having an audio message recording and playback device permits recording of personalized audio messages to be played upon opening of the greeting card. The recording device is operable in either a trial mode or a use mode. The test message is played back initially for the potential purchaser but is not subsequently played back to be later heard by other potential purchasers. Sound recordings may also be recorded by a user using a recording component that is in addition to the audio message and playback device. A greeting card having an audio message recording and playback device permits recording of personalized audio messages to be played upon opening of the greeting card. The recording device is operable in either a trial mode or a use mode. In the trial mode, which would be applicable when the card is displayed in a store, a potential purchaser may experience the functionality of the card by recording their own test message. The test message is played back initially for the potential purchaser but is not subsequently played back to be later heard by other potential purchasers. In the use mode, which the card may be switched to after purchase by the giver of the greeting card, a user recorded message may be played back repeatedly upon subsequent openings of the card. The user recorded message may be followed by a prerecorded recording, such as a song. Additional prerecorded messages, such as voice prompts with instructions for recording a message, may also be included for activation in the trial mode. 1. The greeting card of the present invention includes a sound and motor module which enable the greeting card to play audio and activate a scroll mechanism which displays a scrolling scene across a window or screen located on at least one panel of the greeting card. The invention relates to animatronics on entertainment devices such as greeting cards. A shape memory-alloy wire may be coupled to a PCB housed within a greeting card body. The wire may be anchored to a linkage assembly that is swivably, rotably, pivotably, extendably or otherwise movably coupled to the greeting card body. The PCB may be configured to generate a signal to a driving circuit for supplying an electrical current through the wire, the current having a variable amperage that is modified based on the pulse file. The variable amperage causes a change in the temperature of the wire, which causes the wire, and thus the linkage assembly, to contract and expand. The linkage assembly may be coupled to a display body, which may include an animal shape, characters, popular culture images and the like. Movement of the linkage assembly causes the display body to move in an entertaining manner.

A method of updating a serial attached small computer system interface (SAS) hard disk drive (HDD) firmware (FW) using a management controller (MC) , the method , performed by the MC , comprising:uploading the HDD FW via the local area network (LAN);breaking the HDD FW into a plurality of chunks;issuing a plurality of small computer system interface (SCSI) Write Buffer commands with the plurality of chunks; andwriting the plurality of chunks into the SAS HDD.2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising establishing a connection between a serial attached SAS initial port and an SAS target port.3.
