The card services provider generates the dynamically-generated CVV such that the dynamically-generated CVV is substantially unpredictable based on other dynamically-generated CVVs for the transaction card. The dynamically-generated CVV is only valid for a limited period of time and/or for a limited number of economic transactions. The cardholder uses the dynamically-generated CVV as part of an economic transaction with a merchant. Because the dynamically-generated CVV is only valid for a limited number of economic transactions and/or for a limited period of time, it may be difficult for a thief to repeatedly use the transaction card to make economic transactions.

A protocol with constant-time complexity solves the problem of private identification of tags in low-cost, large-scale radio frequency identification (RFID) systems—assuming that an adversary has complete control over the communication channel. A method , comprising:providing a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag comprising a memory location, the memory location comprising a plurality of one time programmable (OTP) non-volatile memory locations configured to enable the memory location to emulate a hardened memory;receiving, at the RFID tag, an interrogation signal from an RFID interrogator comprising a command to store data to the RFID tag, wherein the RFID tag stores the data to a first OTP non-volatile memory location and a second OTP non-volatile memory location where the data stored to the second OTP non-volatile memory location is redundant with the data stored to the first OTP non-volatile memory location;receiving, at the RFID tag, an interrogation signal from the RFID interrogator comprising a command to read the data from the RFID tag;running a memory test to determine if the first OTP non-volatile memory location has been damaged; andreading and transmitting the data from the second OTP non-volatile memory location if the first OTP non-volatile memory location is damaged.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the hardened memory resists the effects of environmental changes due to an increase in mechanical vibration.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the hardened memory resists the effects of environmental changes due to a change in temperature.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the hardened memory resists the effects of environmental changes due to a change in humidity.5. Example embodiments relate to a network-based vulnerability detection system configured to access a database of customer transaction data corresponding to a set of card readers that includes transaction codes, receive an identification of a set of compromised card readers among the set of card readers, identify common transaction codes within the transaction data of the set of compromised card readers, and correlate the common transaction codes to one or more instances of fraud associated with the compromised set of card readers. In some example embodiments, the vulnerability detection system may be applied to monitor one or more card readers, receive transaction data corresponding to transaction conducted through the card readers, identify the common transaction codes correlated to the instances of fraud, and cause display of a notification that includes an indication of the instance of fraud at a client device. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:receiving the historical transaction data from the set of devices;receiving an identification of the instance of fraud among the historical transaction data, the identification identifying the transaction code; andgenerating the correlation between the transaction code and the instance of fraud.3.
