A digital pen designed to assist users in spelling words as they write. The invention is an electronic pen with a speaker located near the top of the device. A microphone may be located directly under the speaker in the form of a small screened concave or convex aperture. A switch on the back of the pen allows the user to choose between three settings: Dictionary (D), Off (O), and Thesaurus (T). The device works by the user speaking the desired word into the microphone. The word will then appear on the illuminated digital display screen which lights up. The pen asks the user to confirm or deny the displayed word. The user says “yes” or “no” into the microphone. If denied, the pen displays another word until the correct word is located. Once confirmed, the pen will audibly and visibly spell the word one letter at a time as the user writes. The pen may be switched to the thesaurus mode when synonyms/antonyms are needed.

A device and system of information exchange for an educational toy is disclosed. Inside an external shell is placed a small computer. The Device interacts through auditory and visual responses, and accepts input through buttons, RFID accessories, smart cards and speech. The Device communicates with other like devices through a wireless Bluetooth connection. The Device receives information updates via a Bluetooth dongle that plugs into the end user's computer. When the Device is synchronized with the end user's computer, new information is pushed to (and stored in) the Device's internal computer. The end user's computer automatically downloads updates and configuration information from a central web server, via a background software application, which can be transferred during synchronization. Updates and configuration information are available via an online store hosted on the central server. The Device leverages the end user's smartphone to partially replace functionality performed by the internal computer.

The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method for the automated production of an audiovisual animation, in particular a tutorial video, wherein the method comprises the following steps: a. obtaining a slide show created using a presentation program, wherein the slide show comprises one or more graphic images and one or more portions of text; b. automatically inserting one or more entry animations for the one or more graphic images into the slide show; c. automatically generating one or more speech sequences based on the one or more portions of text and inserting the one or more speech sequences into the slide show; and d. exporting the slide show to produce the audiovisual animation.
