The batteries are immersed in a dielectric liquid. The liquid flows between the batteries, absorbing heat from the batteries and creating bubbles in the flow. The container is connected to a condenser 124 which siphons the vapours and returns it to the base of the container. An electric heater is also fitted in the container, which heats the batteries in low temperature conditions and circulates fluid through heating pipes. The present invention relates to a battery module comprising: multiple battery cells arranged to overlap each other in a thickness direction; a battery case for receiving the battery cells and having a structure including an open lower end; and a heat dissipation member including a cover plate coupled to the lower part of the battery case to support the battery cells and a heat dissipation body disposed on a surface of the cover plate by which the battery cells are supported and dissipating heat which may be generated by the battery cells, wherein the heat dissipation body comprises multiple rows of first heat transfer materials arranged in a longitudinal direction of the battery cell on a surface of the cover plate, and the first heat transfer materials are arranged to narrow the intervals therebetween toward the opposite ends from the center of the battery cells in order to increase heat dissipation toward the opposite ends from the center of the battery cells.
