Improvements in or relating to hermaphroditic electrical connectors
Реферат: 988,180. Two-part couplings. J. I. ROSS. March 24, 1964, No. 12484/64. Heading H2E. An electrical connector 10 (Fig. 1) comprises an insulating block 11 (Fig. 2) with contact pins disposed inside the holes 11c-11f and contact sockets disposed inside insulating columns 11g- 11j. The insulating block is contained within a metal housing 12 and connector parts 10 and 10a are connected by means of the locking sleeves 17b which engage with the cammed surfaces of the unequal projections 27b, 28a of the appropriate connector part. Each contact pin is electrically connected to a corresponding contact socket by a jumper bar (Fig. 4, not shown). Attached to the housing is a closure member 13 which terminates in a bushing 14. The end of a multi-wire cable passes through bushing 14 and is gripped by the resilient insulating gland of neoprene for connecting by soldering to the terminals supported in the insulating block. Waterproofing rings 17a, 18a (Fig. 4, not shown) are provided around the contacts and a cap seals the connector parts when disconnected. The connector may be mounted on an equipment panel (Fig. 12, not shown).
