Реферат: The invention comprises salts of tetracycline, chlorotetracycline and oxytetracycline with s-bis-(p-arsonoanilino)ethanes of formula <FORM:0762201/IV(b)/1> where R1 represents hydrogen or an alkyl or alkenyl group containing not more than three carbon atoms. They may be prepared by reacting stoichiometric quantities of a salt of the antibiotic such as the hydrochloride with a salt of the arsonoanilinoethane such as the sodium salt in aqueous solution at room temperature. The product may be used in pharmaceutical compositions with or without a carrier (see Group VI). Specifications 738,040 and 741,661 are referred to.ALSO:Salts of tetracycline, oxytetracycline and chlorotetracycline with s - bis - (p - arsono-anilino) ethanes of formula:- <FORM:0762201/VI/1> where R1 represents hydrogen or an alkyl or alkenyl group containing not more than 3 carbon atoms may be used in pharmaceutical compositions. The active material may be mixed with starch, lactose, talc, stearic acid, magnesium stearate or gums to form tablets, powders or other preparations for oral ingestion; or with liquid diluents such as sterile water, for parenteral administration. It may also, with or without carrier, be placed in a gelatin capsule.
