Реферат: ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a railway car for supporting highway vehicle means which car includes an intermediate frame structure including a pair of longitudinally vertically extending laterally spaced main support beams. Reinforcing members extend laterally and connect the beams, and platform means are supported on the beams and extend upwardly from the center of the car for supporting vehicle hitch means at the center portion of the car. The car further has end structures each including a stub center sill connect-ed to a respective opposing end of the intermediate frame, and each stub center sill comprises a box-like structure overlapping a respective outer end of the intermediate frame structure in extend-ing between the beams, whereby an overlapping region between each end structure and an outer end of the intermediate structure is defined. Shear means connect each of the stub center sills with longitudinal end portions of the beams at respective overlapping regions, and each end structure further includes a pair of long-itudinally extending vehicle wheel supporting treadways, each treadway being disposed on an outer side of a respective stub center sill and being positioned below the upper edges of the respective stub center sill. The treadways each have a portion spaced later-ally outward of a respective main support beam and first laterally and vertically extending bearing means support respective laterally outward portions. Each first bearing means is connected with and has its outer Portion extending laterally outwardly of the end of the associated main support beam at the overlapping region. Means reinforcing each treadway include longitudinally extending support means connected to an underneath surface of the respective tread-ways. Outwardly projecting bolster bearer means and end bearer means are longitudinally spaced along and connected to respective stub center sills and support the treadway reinforcing means. Each of the end structures has longitudinally extending side sills later-ally outward of the stub center sill and each is connected with laterally outer ends of the respective bolster bearer means, end bearer means and the first bearing means.
