Реферат: 1284869 Steam boilers SULZER BROS Ltd 18 Sept 1970 [23 Sept 1969] 44583/70 Heading F4A A steam boiler consists of a muffle burner 30 which supplies hot gas to a rectangular horizontal duct 2 passing through a water-filled drum 1. Tubes, (9) Fig. 3 (not shown), open to the water space, are welded together to form two side walls of the duct. The portion 10 of the duct adjacent the burner is crossed by tubes 5, open to the water space and arranged in groups in mutually parallel planes perpendicular to the gas flow with top portions, 6, projecting into the water space. The transverse arrangement of these tubes allows a high rate of heat transfer from the hottest gases in a small area. A further set of tubes 5 is arranged in the portion 46 of the duct and steam-carrying transverse tubes 16 occupy the portion 15. In modifications (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) the duet may be of either square or rhomboid cross-section situated so that one of its diagonals is vertical, alternate groups of tubes being arranged parallel to each of the two pairs of opposite walls.
