Clips, sheet-metal.- A clip for securing fruit trees and other articles to walls &c. comprises a strip of metal or other material provided with a hole or holes through which passes a nail, and with a loop or extension by means of which the clip may be held by the lingers while the nail is being hammered, one end of the clip being made of approximately semi-circular shape to engage the tree &c. Fig. 1 shows the nail passing through two holes, between which the iron or steel strips a is bent to form a loop b. One end c of the strip is bent back over the nail, and the other end d is shaped as shown to engage a branch. The extreme end d is curved outwards and the edges of the shaped part e are turned upwards. In a modification, the end c is not bent back over the nail. In another modification, the shaped gripping-part of the clip is formed from the upper part of the strip. Fig. 5 shows a clip with a single nail hole and a riveted nail.
