Реферат: 545,820. Ignition coils. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Dec. 12, 1940, No. 17623. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1939. [Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] An ignition coil for internal combustion engines comprises primary and secondary windings 10, 11 on a closed laminated core 13 loosely mounted in a two-part screening casing 20, the space between the coil and casing being filled with a resilient insulating material introduced in liquid form under vacuum conditions and subsequently oven-dried. An insulating casing 14 may be provided round the windings which casing may be similarly filled. The high tension lead 27 is introduced through a neck portion on the upper half of the casing and its screening covering is electrically connected to the casing by a screw ring 38. The low tension terminal comprises a bolt 40 the upper end of which is enclosed in a metallic shield 46 which has a hexagonal lower portion seating in a slotted member 42 whereby it may be placed in different angular positions to suit the direction to be taken by the lead 39. U.S.A. Specifications 1,725,797 and 1,838,077 are referred to.
