Реферат: 8713. Beswick, H. April 11. Handles. -An ordinary flat whitewash brush, Fig. 3, is pivoted by means of a bolt hand wing- nut to a handle b, which is slotted at the end for the purpose. In a modification, Fig. 10, the stock also is slotted and the handle works on a pivot k. A hole g, Fig. 3, is provided through which the bolt h may be passed to clamp the handle to the stock when out of use, so as to prevent warping of the stock. Wire binding e is used to prevent splitting, and the slot is made wider at the outer than at the inner end, so that the members d tend to spring apart when free. The brush may be detached from the handle and used separately, being provided with recesses a<2> for the hand and shoulders a<3> to protect the stock from being smeared when standing in a bucket.
